Some people on LI cannot afford housing and live in temporary shelters or on the street. The Kimmel Housing Development Foundation is the only non-profit organization in Nassau County that has helped build affordable housing in Nassau County for such people. The residents of Apex I (38 units) and Apex II (35 units) are all very grateful to be able to have a place to live and call home that is well maintained and affordable

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have met many residents at different events and they have talked about how living at Apex I & II has greatly improved the quality of their lives.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I can’t think of any changes. I would have the Foundation continue to do what it has been doing in the same manner as it has in the past.

Volunteer & I organized and developed the computer systems for the Foundation and continue to maintain them. I set up a computer system in the Community Room to allow all residents internet access at no cost to them. I also continue to help with mailings and arrang.
