"I went to the bathroom & lost my ego".
This social network does- to paraphrase a UK advert strap line-"what it says on the tin" without the inane comments apparently found on other SNs.
Where did I come across WiserEarth? Probably from a link on Bioneers or Rocky Mountain Institute sites.
Why do I participate? My background is in environmental landscaping & my future is in inspiring sustainable thinking, so it makes the obvious home to find like minded people & discuss ideas. It actually allows what the prime benefit of the internet is- that of communication & research.
I'm impressed by the quick response time from the editors.
The potential for influence from such a large group of people across the globe is phenomenal.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The ease at which someone - whom you've never met on person - will without ego offer help on how to contribute to WE
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Possibly look at WE becoming politically influential as were Friends of the Earth & Greenpeace in their origins. Though one has to make sure it wouldn't lose its openness & be controlled by a few powerful people with their own agenda
MY ROLE:
General Member of the Public & A friend in Sweden sent me a campaign email [ to stop slaughter of Calderon dolphins in the Faroe Islands] which with Bowo's help I put on WEversity. This resulted in Narda posting link to existing WE group, where there maybe potential to initiate WE cam.
