My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation, Sumner, WA, USA
This organization fails to follow regulations required by 501(c)(3) codes. They have failed to provide donor receipts (more than a year has passed), refused to provide Form990 filings as required by law and have not filed a Form990 since Aug 2007 for tax year 2006. They ignore all letters requesting information on the Foundation. Given the current leadership and lack of transparency I cannot recommend the Sumner-Bonney Lake Foundation.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
they do provide scholarships to deserving students.
Ways to make it better...
this organization had performed any form of communication. Not even a form letter thanking us for our donation was sent, let alone a receipt. Their failure to communicate led to this problem. Their failure to provide information as required by law demonstrates their ineptitude.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
failure to follow tax laws governing 501(c)(3) organizations. Their tax and accounting practices are questionable and need to be scrutinized.
