Review for Healing Hands For Haiti Foundation Inc, Salt Lake City, UT, USA
I visited the HHH campus in April 2009 (several months before the earthquake) and was blown away by the facilities and staff. It was clear to me that HHH is truly making a difference in Haiti where there is a huge need for rehab of amputees as well as others with disabilities. I also visited the central hospital in Port-au-Prince, where I witnessed firsthand the fruits of a vital partnership HHH has with a group of doctors from the University of Miami. The doctors were the only ones in the country at the time how were performing surgeries on children with encephalitis and literally saving their lives. HHH is also extremely well run and its operations are efficient. They employ high-caliber local professionals and attract volunteers far and wide, hosting them comfortably in a guest house that boasts a world-class kitchen staff.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
knowing that the friend whose position I help to subsidize is engaged in a good cause and has a means of support.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
help it to form more partnerships with local and international organizations.
