My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Create Now, Inc., Los Angeles, CA, USA
Create now provides an avenue for volunteers who have the time and the heart to help others who could greatly benefit. My experience in dealing with at-risk youth and teaching them how to create things was so rewarding, because it gave them confidence that they could create awesome things themselves, and it also gave these kids something to look forward to every week. In the short summer that I volunteered with the organization, I developed great relationships with many awesome people.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
many ways. I learned how to deal with everything from how to handle rough situations with kids who grew up in difficult conditions, to associating with children who are shy or have disabilities. It was very spiritually rewarding.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I think one thing that would be a great addition would be an online board where new volunteer opportunities are posted, so that the volunteers would not have to look far for a similar opportunity once one ends. It is a great organization.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
everything.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Very nice and helpful people.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Thrive to be a great force in helping the lives of so many children who have so little to look forward to.
Ways to make it better...
The opportunity could have extended year-round. It was only for a summer and I wish I could have helped out more.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Not sure.
One thing I'd also say is that...
people should always find the time to help others! :)

Thanks Samantha! Your help with our Introduction to Art Workshop was so appreciated by everyone at L.A. Family Housing. All of those children who were previously homeless will now have terrific crafts projects that you helped them to make, which will build their self-esteem. We look forward to having you mentor again soon. Jill
