Review for Helping Out Pets Everyday, Upland, CA, USA

Rating: 1 stars

This organization is HORRIBLE!!! They have no desire to find good homes for their pets, instead they find excuse after excuse as to why you are not a suitable owner or "Match" for the pet. They base all of their decisions upon the "what if". For instance we were told our back yard, which is enclosed by a 9 foot block wall, in a cul-de-sac, would not be a safe area for dogs to run around because,... and get this..., "a coyote might scale my wall and attack them," then literally 1 minute later it was, "well if not a coyote then a mountain lion" and if not a mountain lion then a BEAR!!!!!" That's right, Margaret says that we can not adopted homeless, abandoned puppies because of coyotes, mountain lions, and bears (Oh My) coming over a 9' block wall, in a cul-de-sac, in tracked homes, next to a freeway....!!!!! I truly believe that Margret is very biased and doesn't really care about getting these animals good homes, otherwise why all of the excuses and reasons to keep these animals from being apart of a family. I thought that that's what your "organizations" entire purpose was for. So why all the run around and b.s. just to keep these dogs in a cage even longer?????? The attitude she displayed was unprofessional and very judge-mental. I would never recommend using this agency to ANYONE, EVER. Please people, go give your love and time to a organization that is really trying to find good, loving homes for these animals. Not those that think they know your situation, and will say whatever nonsense that comes to their heads. No matter how idiotic and far fetched it is. If you really want an animal from H.O.P.E. then LIE and say dogs and cats are indoor only, otherwise Lions, and tigers and bears may attack and you'll be DENIED...

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

a very negative manner. Will NEVER deal with this organization again.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Change your standards. I would not have the outcome of the adoptions based on the opinion of the interviewer, instead base it upon the facts.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZILCH!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Volunteers were FABULOUS, Staff HORRIBLE!!!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

probably waste it on keeping animals in foster homes, and not getting them adopted.

Ways to make it better...

If they were not so judge mental in thinking they know everything about you.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The staff and their opinions.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This organization is far from organized. Waited around forever, asked to come back next week, waited around again, all to be denied over Lions and coyotes and Bears!!! Really? Come on

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
