Review for Friends Of Santa Cruz State Parks, Santa Cruz, CA, USA
Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks strives to maintain the natural beauty of the parks and beaches in Santa Cruz County. The staff and volunteers help to replant native trees, help to protect the tide pools and all the lovely sea life surrounding and within the ocean, and most importantly (in my opinion), work hard to protect the Monarch Butterflies at Natural Bridges. The folks involved with Natural Bridges spend limitless hours educating the public about how to protect the abundant beauty and tranquility. Natural Bridges is the only CA state protected preserve, and for good reason. It provides a safe haven for the Monarchs as they over-winter along the coast. This is a gem of an organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Numerous ways! I know that tide pool wildlife, sea life and Monarchs are thriving because of the efforts of compassionate humans.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Conduct more outreach and get more funding - even though I know the folks working there now do an excellent job.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Knowing that by participating, one can make a great impact on their environment.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Individuals who truly care about our earth.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
The possibilities are limitless! More outreach in schools across the nation and beyond, plant more trees and other native plants to help the wildlife prosper more, pay the employees a higher wage, so they can feel even more valued about the important work they're doing, have more opportunities to motivate volunteers...
Ways to make it better...
More people would take just a few hours per month out of their busy lives to help volunteer. There is a constant need for help.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Funding - provding more resources for the public to be educated about how we impact the earth and the wildlife on earth.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks is an amazing organization that is positively impacting our earth. A true gem.
