Review for Sacramento SPCA, Sacramento, CA, USA
I've volunteered at a lot of different places in the greater Sacramento area. None of them gave me as much experience and useful knowledge as the Sacramento SPCA. They make sure that every volunteer has the skills necessary to give the dogs much needed love, and train the dogs to be more adoptable and people-friendly. Although the training process was long, it was well worth it in the end.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I've adpoted two dogs from the Sacramento SPCA. Missy, my first dog. and Annie, my current companion. Both of them were/are everything one could ask for in a pet. I am so glad that the SPCA gave them the chance to find a forever home.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I heard that the Sacramento SPCA does not have a Humane Officer any more because of budgeting issues. This is truly unfortunate and I believe should be something that should be brought back.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The amazing animals I've got to meet.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Friendly, helpful, and they loved the work that they were doing.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Save the lives of so many more animals. If I had ten million bucks I would give it to the Sacramento SPCA.
Ways to make it better...
If I didnt leave wishing I could take at least 10 dogs home with me.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Getting people to realize how uneducated they are in how animals think and feel and why they act the way that they do. Also, matching the right dog/cat to the right people who can handle their temperament.
