Review for Payatas Mission Outreach Inc, Riverside, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I met Pastor Jack last year when we were doing a story about garbage mountain in Payatas area. The condition of the people living in the area are really heart wrenching and witnessing the challenging works of Payatas Mission Outreach just to provide some sort of sanctuary to the people there is just amazing and at the same time inspiring. We filmed the story and it reached some viewers in CBS. In as much as my experience with this organization is fleeting, I hope to help them more by passing on the story whenever there is an opportunity so people may know how important it is to support groups like this.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing how the out-of-school youth in Payatas somehow gain valuable education through this mission. His services are flocked by people and I saw volunteers giving food as well to the children.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

love to go back and film them again. in fact i am doing another story pitch to a singaporean network and hopefully his story can reach more audience for further possible support.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that they use music to communicate with people. i remember they have a small keyboard in their very small area and they use it to alleviate people's emotion.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the volunteers are very friendly despite the harsh condition that they have to work with.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

it can change the lives of the people and children in the area through educational programmes and i think that's a very good thing.

Ways to make it better...

i was given more time to know them and their works.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of facilities and paid staff to really get things going for their advocacies.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I hope more people would come to help them.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I helped sent Canadian media in the area to film the good works that Pastor Jack and the missionary has done to the people of Payatas village.
