Review for Women Employed, Chicago, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Best organization that ever happened to me and the working women of Chicago as well as the nation. OK, I'll admit it, I joined in 1973. I was seeing the inequality of the workplace and needed to do something. While working as a bureaucrat I had more rights and freedoms than many other working women, yet I was only one of the two "professionally" graded female employees in my agency. Women Employed helped me find my voice and I was able to work to improve my field as well as other fields. Previous reviews are correct, Women Employed also helped me find some life long friends. I am forever grateful for both.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Equal pay, job opportunities, job change support

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make sure it has the funding to support women until all are equal

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Becoming the change I wanted to see.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Professional, hard working

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Start a new program for some new group of women.

Ways to make it better...

I had more current time to help.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Helping younger women understand that, even now, they could be helping improve the working conditions for some group of women.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Former Volunteer & Member advocacy committee, Board Chair.
