Review for Kidpower International, Santa Cruz, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Kidpower continues to impress me with their commitment to quality service, education, and innovation. Kidpower learned how to pivot during the pandemic and offer safety workshops online. The Online Learning Center is now a valuable tool for anyone who wants to learn safety skills at their own pace and from home. As someone who learned Kidpower and Fullpower skills over 20 years ago and still uses them today, I'm so grateful this organization exists to serve those in need of safety skills - which is EVERYONE!

I'm so grateful for the work Kidpower does to contribute to "safety for all" by teaching people of all ages the skills to keep themselves and others safe. Kidpower walks its talk by upholding its values in interactions and decisions that its leaders engage in, even if it means having hard conversations. Kidpower's "Tools to Live By" are tools that everyone can practice. I especially value: setting boundaries, taking responsibility, checking first, staying present, acting wisely, taking charge of your safety, being kind to yourself, and celebrating success. Kidpower not only teaches safety skills, but also life skills. Thank you, Kidpower!

Kidpower's mission and values are essential to our society's well-being. More than that, Kidpower goes above and beyond what is expected by providing information and follow-up in a compassionate manner, since the subject that the organization excels in is very sensitive. From my own personal experience, I have seen the inclusive, compassionate, and dedicated service provided, always with integrity and patience. It takes special people who are devoted to Kidpower's mission to keep the organization moving and Kidpower encourages many people with the right intentions and passion to get involved in providing services and furthering its cause.

I have been involved with Kidpower since 2002, in the capacities of Office Coordinator in the Central Office, instructor, Board member. I am so honored to be a part of this organization and value my experience with Kidpower and am very strongly aligned with Kidpower's vision, mission statement, and values. I feel more confident in the world, knowing that I have the skills to keep myself safe in my interactions with people and my environment. I hope all people can gain the valuable skills that Kidpower teaches!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Living my life in a safe, productive, fun, fulfilling way and also in hearing all the wonderful, inspiring success stories that others have shared about their experiences.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people who comprise it and the valuable skills I've learned.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

compassionate, smart, and very capable.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach so many people domestically and internationally to teach them to be safe and provide their employees with wages commensurate with the very important work they do.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month
