Share Self-Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer, Inc.
May 18, 2010
Hearing women say "SHARE is saving my life" became a cliche, so often did I hear women, and some husbands, express their response to the support they were receiving from SHARE's many programs. As a long time breast cancer survivor and social worker, I experienced SHARE both as a recipient of its multiple services and as a volunteer able to evaluate its effectiveness. I found SHARE's educational programs invaluable, from quality of life self-care issues to cutting edge research presentations. Looking back, what stays with me most is the rich sense of community and emotional support I felt being with other women who struggled with the same things I had, and how vital I felt SHARE to be to my sense of well-being.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in my improved sense of wellness and fortified ability to cope with having had breast cancer as a woman in my thirties. I also learned much from SHARE's educational programs.
