Review for Arts For All, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been amazed by Arts for All's commitment to bringing the arts to children who may not otherwise have access, since I first became involved in 2013. During the pandemic, they have demonstrated themselves the resilience and creativity that they inspire in children, creating accessible programming virtually. Their work is so important!

In August 2013, I heard about a non profit that offers accessible artistic opportunities to children in the New York City area who face socio-economic, physical, or emotional barriers to exploring the arts. Through Arts For All, Inc professional artists work with youth organizations to build self-confidence, self-expression, teamwork, resilience, and creativity in children. Though I do not have any artistic talent, it is a cause that I am very passionate about. I was soon scheduled for an interview with the Executive Director for a Fall internship. The very first time I met Anna Roberts Ostroff, I knew she was an incredible person. I could hear the passion as she spoke about the organization, which she began while a student at NYU. That was three years ago and I haven't stopped volunteering with them since. I have seen the faces of the children that they bring the magic of arts to and it is something that everyone should experience.

Over the last two years, I had the privilege of working with this incredibly inspiring organization as both an intern and as a committee member of both the operations and fundraising committees. I have had the opportunity to work both inside the office with the Executive Director and Development Associate, as well as outside the office observing teaching artists in the classroom, and participating in fundraising activities. The experiences that I've had at Arts For All have far exceeded any expectations that I could have had. Every single individual involved, from the volunteers to the committees, board, and ED, are extremely dedicated to helping ensure that children who may otherwise face difficulties accessing the arts have an opportunity to do so. They believe strongly in the power of the arts to create resilience, creativity, self-expression, self-confidence, and teamwork, and I have witnessed this firsthand in my time with them. There's a reason that so many of the interns continue to volunteer with Arts For All after their internship has ended! Truly a remarkable nonprofit.

I'm an intern with Arts For All and I have absolutely loved my time with them so far. Even though I haven't been with them that long, I have already fallen in love with their mission, passion, and dedication to providing arts education to children who might not otherwise have access. Anna and the rest of the team exhibit a deep love for what they do, which I find extremely inspiring each and every day.
