Review for MARINE LIFE STUDIES , Moss Landing, CA, USA
Marine Life Studies is a vital asset to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The nonprofit provides valuable information to West Coast marine scientists from Baja to the San Juan Islands for marine life that migrate through the Monterey Bay and beyond. The Whale Entanglement Team provides life saving rescue to whales caught in lines 24/7. Marine Life Studies greatly provide and enhance the educational programs of the Boys and Girls Club. "Take it to the Streets" brings a huge awareness to the public that our beach trash starts on our streets and causes debilitating destruction to our marine life. Marne Life Studies brings an ocean care to young and old no matter their level of education or economic status.
Review for Save The Whales Inc, Seaside, CA, USA
During the migration of the Gray Whale in January, Fisherman's Wharf Association, sponsors along with BLUE Ocean Film Festival, and Monterey Academy of Oceanographic Sciences, Whalefest Monterey as a fund raising event to bring public awareness to the marine non-profits, organizations, and agencies that influence the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The sustainability of our oceans is through, education, formal and informal of this generation and the next. Save the Whales has been an integral part of the event since inception. Save the Whales has provided three different interactive programs for all ages in the Wharf Theater, provided lectures and panelists in the Museum of Monterey Theater, interactive booths, and volunteers dressed as sea animals to provide marine information and to interact with the attendees, especially children. We are thrilled that Save the Whales will once again be participating in Whalefest Monterey, 2014.
