My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for J'burgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
The emails concerning this award have gotten excessive. Please stop sending so many as it has already become such an irritant that it came up during a dinner party tonight. Of 6 people who were there 4 were getting the emails. We looked on Facebook and counted 8 emails, each of which generates an email to our accounts. And combined with the regular emails that come into our boxes about this award it equals ALOT! This is not the only occurrence of too much email from J'Burgh. A kickball event that didn't get advertised in time generated 4 emails in one day!!!! I can see that it would be difficult to plan these events and gatherings and still work full time at some other job. I assume that Mr. Katz volunteers or this is his part time job. But perhaps he needs to calm down with the emails. At this point all you are doing is alienating people and they will stop looking at your emails altogether or putting them in the junk mail folder. If you want people to read and absorb your emails limit them to TWO A MONTH. They will have far more impact than sending them every single day, several in a day.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Some very fun events, some are extremely well done (others not so much but there's much to learn!)
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Generally very enthusiastic.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
reach every Jew 20 to 40 out there in Pittsburgh and Western PA and stop assimilation of Jews and intermarriage.
Ways to make it better...
The staff were better versed in non-profit work and had a better idea of how to reach out to the community.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
The barrage of email is an indication of the lack of experience of the staff.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About every month
