I have worked on the staff of the Society for almost three years, and I am continually inspired by the commitment of Spanish Market artists and their families to continue the most honored tradition of mentoring young artists from generation to generation. This tradition is a cultural model worth replicating in our country. It is one of the few places in the United States where the time-honored tradition of apprenticeship still flourishes, with far-reaching benefits to the individual, family and greater society.
