Although the psychedelic drugs they study have a bad reputation, make no mistake: MAPS is a science-based research organization that is concerned first and foremost with improving human health and happiness. They've done amazing work like researching the potential of MDMA as a treatment for PTSD, ibogaine for opiate addiction, and LSD for relieving end-of-life anxiety. The potential of psychedelics extends far beyond their reputation as recreational street drugs, and MAPS leads the frontier for discovering their unique medical applications.
