Review for Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo Inc., San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

With the help of local volunteers and community involvement Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo (RTR4C) transforms sad and drab chemotherapy centers into warm, hopeful, and caring enviroments. This has an impact on the patients, participants, family, and staff. Since 2011 we have transformed 13 facilities in the USA, and two in San Salvador, and are still hard at work where ever there is a facility that wants our help. Our transformed rooms make a difference to over 808,000 patient visits per year. The concept is simple and it is simply a wonderful thing to do for those that are suffering and fighting for thier lives.
Did I mention this is all done in one quick weekend? The facilities need the chemo rooms and cannot give them up even for a day. If the facility is unable to close for a weekend, we "work around" patients and chairs; often times moving them to another part of the facility as we work long into the night.

Review for Basic Health International, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As the founder and president of RoomsThatRock4Chemo, it was my pleasure indeed to be introduced to, and work together with Basic Health International in transforming the chemotherapy unit at Maternity Hospital in San Salvador, El Salvador. Under the excellent and professional direction of Dr. Mauricio Maza, BHI worked with dedication and professionalism, willing to do whatever it took to get the project completed “on time and under budget". The BHI family included, doctors, board members and professionals of all levels, everyone contributing and therefore making a difference to those that must endure chemotherapy.

I was able to learn more about the BHI mission of eradicating cervical cancer that devastates so many women of all ages in El Salvador. As they explained their mission in greater detail, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and compassion that was visible in their eyes and hearts as they spoke of their dedication to detect, treat, and stop this horrible cancer.

BHI is truly a non-profit that is worthy of praise. I hope we are able to collaborate again in the not too distant future. Thank you BHI!
