Review for Aids Ride South Africa Ltd, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Each year on AIDS Ride South Africa, we create what the world should be: a world in which differences are celebrated, a world without stigma, and a world in which people care about and support one another. ARSA is group of international volunteer cyclists and supporters that comes together annually to fight HIV & AIDS through education, awareness, prevention and teaching cycling as a healthier lifestyle. We raise money to stop HIV and AIDS globally. Every dollar earned goes toward the ride. I was a volunteer supporter on ARSA's launch ride in 2010. I have been a donor and volunteer ever since. ARSA cycles annually from Johannesburg to Cape Town, South Africa stopping in grassroots towns all along the way. Cycling also through Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland, ARSA is the first international AIDS ride. A life-changing experience. How many times to you get a chance to save a life? We'd love to see you on the road this year.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Seek monthly donors to increase funds available to take even more riders. Everyone on this ride has to give their maximum effort while cycling across magnificent terrain. But it's worth it!

Review for Free2Be (Free2Be LGBTQ Resource Center & Free2Be Safe Anti-Violence Project), Huntsville, AL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

James Robinson is a particularly hard-working director of this worthy cause, helping homeless GLBT youths find a place to live where they can go and thrive after being rejected by their families. His is one of only a few organizations doing this valuable work and he is truly making a difference. I am so glad our paths crossed and I was able to help in some small way. I hope GLBT Advocacy & Youth Services doubles in strength and size so it can continue to help those who need them most.
