Review for Community Alliance For The Performing Arts Fund, Williamsburg, VA, USA
So many arts organizations focus on serving large numbers with low quality in programing. They touch the surface of arts "diciplines" and provide no foundation for career building in the arts. They leave training to college for which most students is too late. However, This organization focuses on creating real world experiences for children and youth who are beening trained in performing arts. The children and youth are clearly given roles that they have been prepared to undertake and placed them with professional directors and choreographers under professional expectations. This vocational experience alone is worth the investment into this organization. Their alumni speaks volumes of the successs both from their affilate school, the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts and CAPA Fund's Americian Youth Ballet Company and the American Youth Players.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
how they develop artists, provide them with experiences that help them succeed in a very competitive market and now enjoying watching them reach the top positions as Broadway stars, principal dancers in company such as ABT. What more important, is I have watched the sacrifices and struggles that the artistic directors have made to maintain this company is a community limited is is funding resources that bigger cities have access to.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Find funds for staffing support, expand efforts on outreach and recruitment. Public and Private schools need to embrace the opportunities this organization provides. They should be identifying talent in their school and encourge them in vocational development and performing opportunities.
