Review for Pace, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

Pace helps the whole family.... my son started at Pace for 3rd grade... after 3 years of public school... I was so use to having daily calls from public school about what negitive thing happened at school...At Pace they understand the "oh no what did my kid do now" feeling when a phone call comes home... the first half of the year I got phone calls of good things my son did. My son needed the healing "band aides" to suceed... and so did I. Now my son is looking foward to transitioning back to public school.. The "band aides" are not covering out bodies anymore.... now we just have really tiny scars...Pace helps the healing.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my son becoming a "typical" boy... able to a typical 11 year old...being able to play jokes on his big brother... able to tell me when "Mr Aspergers" is taking over and he needs help.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I understand the hypa rules, however these kids come from many different school districts.... I want my son to have friends from school outside of school but because of the privacy laws the staff cannot help the families make connections out side of school. Maybe have a release form at the beginning of the school year (that can be revoked at anytime) for each classroom that the parents can sign so the teacher can release phone numbers or email addresses to classmate families only.

Role:  Client Served & I am a parent of a Pace student.
