Review for Food Empowerment Project, Cotati, CA, USA

The work of Food Empowerment Project regarding environmental racism, food accessibility and labor conditions for immigrants in big agriculture as well as the exploitation of workers globally for food products has opened my eyes. They are an incredible resource that I am thankful for and frequently refer people to. They are one of the few resources out there linking veganism, food accessibility and communities of color and I am thankful for their existence. I truly believe that the resources provided by food empowerment project have increased my effectiveness as an activist through providing important information in a centralized location that links the communities I struggle alongside and for. It is an invaluable resource for anti-racist vegans as well as anyone who cares about the global community and their access to food.

I have personally had incredible experiences discussing these issues with lauren Ornelas. This has not only created a great resource to refer people to as well as anti-racist analysis of veganism and food access for the blog I run, but also help me bring the anti-racist analysis to my volunteer work with GLBTQ folks in NYC as it relates to general access to resources.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I had the resources I would give them as much as I could so that they could do even more work. I'm truly thankful for them, the information they provide and the existence of their dedication to food injustice.
