My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Diversity Council, Rochester, MN, USA
In 2010, the Mayo Clinic sponsored the national exhibit "RACE: Are We So Different?" in Rochester, MN in partnership with the Rochester Public Library and many nonprofit organizations. I volunteered to be one of 177 facilitators trained by the Diversity Council to lead discussion groups. The Diversity Council managed 6,750 students and 900 adults who toured the exhibit.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
becoming a corporate trainer for the Diversity Council, and preparing myself to serve its mission to educate people to embrace diversity as a foundation for building a healthy, inclusive and prosperous community.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
double its budget, because it is exceedingly powerful and impactful in the community. Rochester is a growing, dynamic and increasingly international community that embraces the Diversity Council's vision to be "an inclusive and welcoming community in which every individual is respected."
