FOOD EMPOWERMENT PROJECT
July 9, 2011

I learned about the Food Empowerment Project through a local non-profit organization in Portland, OR called the Let Live Foundation. I was fortunate enough to hear Food Empowerment Project founder, lauren Ornelas, speak on several occasions about food and social justice issues. She was incredibly inspiring, informative, and motivating. I learned a lot from lauren's talks and support the Food Empowerment Project however I can.

Everybody should have access to healthy, affordable food. Workers should be treated fairly and kindly. Animal exploitation on factory farms needs to stop. Our environment's natural resources should not be depleted. The Food Empowerment Project focuses on these essential issues while maintaing compassion for all beings.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have attended talks given by lauren Ornelas. Two topics in her talks I was particularly interested in : the bottled water industry and slave labor on chocolate plantations. I posted about both of these issues on my blog after learning about them from lauren.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't make any changes.
