Review for Unbound, Kansas City, KS, USA

Rating: 2 stars

In 1995, my husband and I started sponsoring a little boy named Kevin. Throughout the years, we corresponded back and forth and then the correspondence stopped. He would have been about 18 years old at this time. I called to inquire about it and was told that he left the program to help his father. Recently, I found Kevin on Facebook and began communicating with him. He said that CFCA kicked him out of the program because he couldn't afford transportation to the programs, that there was some trouble with the local promoter (Mario) and he was 15 when all this happened. I'm curious as to why CFCA wouldn't have provided transportation and why CFCA would continue taking my money for 3 years after my sponsored child was booted out of the program. I think there could be trouble at the local level and I think this should be investigated. According to my calculations, CFCA/Unbound owes Kevin $1200. I hope they make it right.

Linda, thank you so much for your longtime support of your sponsored friend, Kevin, and for you sharing these concerns with us. Accountability is very important to us and our records don't match the timeline Kevin shared with you. We are showing that Kevin was retired from our program in 2014 around the age of 20. There are instances in which a sponsorship would end, but neither age of the sponsored friend nor lack of access to transportation would be one. We are confident that Kevin received his benefits throughout your entire sponsorship, but we’ve sent your message on to our International Programs team so that they are aware of your communication with Kevin. Thank you again for your support of Kevin and for sharing your experience with us.

Review for Eternal Word Television Network Inc, Irondale, AL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

They're wonderful. They have a Catholic cable tv station and offer an authentic Catholic viewpoint to a variety of issues. I've also personally called them with questions and everyone I've spoken to there has been extremely kind and helpful. If you want to help out the Church, sending money to them is a good way to do it.

Review for Starlight Children's Foundation Midwest, Chicago, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Starlight has been a Godsend to my family. They've enabled us to enjoy going to places and doing things we'd never be able to afford on our own. Starlight helps us to remember what's really important in life: sharing time with the ones you love. Everyone I've ever dealt with at Starlight has been wonderful, too. I'd give them 2 thumbs up!! :)

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

We've gone to several baseball games, Cavalia horseshow (a favorite), Medieval Times, Disney on Ice shows, the zoo, sailing, Lake Michigan dinner cruise, Dave and Busters, etc...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would like to see some events planned that are south of Chicago.
