Since joining Starlight Children’s Foundation Midwest two years ago as their executive director, I have been continually impressed by the strength and resilience of our Starlight families. They take whatever we can offer them—family outings to ballgames or bowling alleys, the Fun Centers we place in hospitals, the Halloween party we just held at a board member’s office—and make it their own. These kids, their sisters and brothers and parents, literally fight for their lives every day and still find a way to make the most of the joy that comes their way. I come to work each day, determined to find more ways to help. Starlight kids and families, you’re my inspiration!

Having recently joined Starilght, I am more impressed than ever with the Foundation's impact on the lives of the children and families we serve. Lives truly are brightened; pain, fear and isolation are reduced. Thanks to Starlight sick kids get to be just regular kids for a little while and parents get the joy of watching that happen!
