CONCERT FOR THE CURE FOUNDATION
June 19, 2011
I've been volunteering with the Concert for the Cure Foundation for three years now. Every year the nonprofit hosts a concert event as their main fundraiser, organized and run by campus organizations at Trinity University. This concert has only been a tradition for handful of years, but since the first concert, has exploded into a city wide event that people look forward to attending annually. This nonprofit combines a great cause, with a great fundraising event to raise enough funds to truly make a difference for the American Cancer Society.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Seeing the numbers add up once the concert has happened and getting to see the donation we are able to make to the American Cancer Society is phenomenal. I'm elated by the success of this young group's efforts.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Offer an opening act that isn't country (to help draw a larger audience)
Volunteer & Helped promote the concert by volunteering with PR work, helping to host smaller fundraising nights, selling tickets and t-shirts.
