Since I was diagnosed with Melanoma five years ago I have donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation in WA, DC or to Fred Hutch, in Seattle, WA.) with a directive for the money to go towards Melanoma research.
I attended the Melanoma Symposium at Fred Hutch in Seattle in May and found the information a bit overwhelming and over my head. However, I did enjoy the last panel of Melanoma survivors who shared their experiences with us.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Receiving very informative e-mails and mailings sharing the latest in research.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Not lead us to believe that Fred Hutch is the only place to receive quality care for Melanoma. I go to Dr. Richard McGee at Puget Sound Cancer Care in Edmonds, WA. and have been very pleased with the care there. Also, I would hightly encourage a "buddy" system where survivors (after receiving some kind of training) could help people who have been newly diagnosed.
Sharon, who we have emailed without a response, posted this under our organization instead of the Melanoma Research Foundation. She states it in her first sentence that she donated to MRF and went to their symposium in Seattle. So we asked this post be moved to the Melanoma Research Foundation listing. We hope that our rating is not further affected by this one 3 star rating. We have 60 or more 5 star ratings!
