Review for CHIHUAHUA RESCUE AND TRANSPORT INC, Sanibel, FL, USA
Per the Northwest Regional Director, Laura Hasenstan in Cincinnati, Ohio, it is not permitted to allow anyone to adopt a Chihuahua who has a child under the age of 16 in their home.
The only exception to this rule is if the Child has "previous experience" with a Chihuahua living in the home.
If you have a child, don't waste your time. There is a huge difference in the developmental level and behavior level of children in the age range of 1 to 16, but not according to CRI.
If you work from home, are financially stable, have a very suitable environment, previous pet owner, excellent character and veterinary references...it doesn't matter. If you have kids...you are OUT!
A friend was rejected for not having a fenced yard. She had previous owned 3 Chihuahua's. A fence requirement for a Chi...really?
What a shame, they reject qualified applicants.
