My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Bat Conservation International, Austin, TX, USA
I love the work this organization has done to try and save bats. From education and awareness to helping find a cure for White-Nose Syndrome. I've learned a lot from their outreach and hope to volunteer for them when I get the chance. I am proud to be a member and have no concerns when I donate to them.

Review for The Humane Society of the United States, Washington, DC, USA
Self-serving, tax-evading, and misleading. This nonprofit looks like a umbrella of humane societies or shelters, but it is not. While some of the things it has done, and continues to do, will benefit animals, the agenda of the organization is essentially to separate animals and man...as in extremist vegan and anti-companion pets. The ads I have seen on TV say that my donations go to help the (neglected/abused animals in the pound) but they don't state how. Upon researching, they do it by regulating man's ability to keep animals and how they keep them, not by supporting the animals in the pound, or their vet bills, or to start up/continue supporting shelters.

It's political support of banning my pets-some of the snake species I love and keep- and thanks to that, I am now limited in the areas I can live.

Return it to the original purpose-a non lobbying, non political group of people who actively help care for shelters and the animals in them, as well as helping educate and fund ways to reduce pet overpopulation and abuse.
