Mission:
Founded by Paul Newman, the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a residential summer camp and year-round center located in Ashford, Connecticut that provides a special haven for children with serious illnesses and conditions, including cancer, HIV/AIDS and blood disorders. Each summer, more than 1,000 seriously ill children enjoy a unique camping experience that promotes joy, builds courage and instills hope at no charge to campers or their families. Through the rest of the year, we host special weekend programs for campers, their families and caregivers. Through our innovative Hospital Outreach Program, we bring the joy and spirit of Camp to seriously ill children at hospitals from New York to Boston. We rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations for support each year.
Results:
We served 17,500 seriously ill children in 2011 and expect to increase that number to 20,000 in 2012.

My family and I have been volunteering here for 15 years. My son started as a camper and for the past two summers has been a Leader in training (LIT I & Ii).
We look forward to our week of volunteering all year long. It's great to be able to help the kids have fun in a safe and loving environment...
