I am Youngor Quaqua Yeanue. Am very excited to share my story of how my life had been helping and working with children which my story, is also on my website, www.yeanueoutreach.org.
Yeanue Outreach is a Nonprofit organization founded 2008 with 5o1c3) status. This organization was founded to help educate orphan and low income parent children in Liberia and the world..
My dream all stated after the civil war in my country, Liberia. It was one early morning when family and I have just return home during the war and we hardly had enough food to eat when a voice said to me while leading down, to go and take care of children. When I heard this voice, I asked myself as to how I was going to go about doing this when I could not even provide for myself and my family? The voice said to me, go I will be there. with you. When I heard this last voice, all that came to my mind first was putting women together and the reason for thinking that way was, women are always mothers and they will go above and beyond to take care of the children. After the confusion from the voice, I decided to call a meeting. The first meeting I called was a very large group with men also included and during the meeting, I put my dream before the group and they all excepted it.
The members of the group were very creative and all of them were involved in a training program that empowered both the women and men within the community and we all came up with a name, Liberian Women United for Development.. While the training program was going on successfully, I finally called a meeting to let them know there was a need to go within the community to bring the children that are orphans and low income parent children to help educate them since we had lots of career people within the group..They never hesitated but rather they all agreed to do excitedly as I said. From that point, I started believing that God was in control of all that was happening.
We first started the elementary school in a mat structure that was build on the land that was given to me by my husband Alfred Duke Yeanue Sr..which the picture of the first mat structure building is on my website now.
Late, I wrote a project to an international organization and the organization build ten classroom school building for the students which the school now has gone up to a high school level with over two hundred students.now.
Based on the the foundation from which the school was built, the school is the lowest tuition paid school. The intake from the school is just to manage the system to keep the school open and to continue giving the children quality education.
Based on the lack of funding,I have always been the helping hands to give support to the school to compensate teaches and support staff while they are voluntarily impacting knowledge for children to achieve their education.
It was not an easy task to have reach this far with my dream but however, from the promise of God has brought us this far and with my eyes of faith and with Gods presence within this dream,we are our going to achieve greatness.
