Mission: The WPM is based on natural/scientific pantheism, reverence for the Universe and Nature without belief in supernatural entities; celebration of life rather than afterlife; and active concern for nature conservation and human rights. The World Pantheist Movement promotes these beliefs and values as a religious alternative to supernatural-focused religions. It develops means of communication between pantheists, including Internet communities and local and regional groups, publishes informational material about pantheism, and aims to create a network of celebrants to facilitate naturalistic funerals and weddings. The WPM also actively promotes the conservation of nature, has a system of voluntary wildlife reserves and organizes members to save rainforest. The WPM opened for membership in 1999, and has members in 54 countries.
