Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries
Mission: Creating a sustainable future, World Harvest Charities, and Family Services, a non-profit organization was conceptualized in 2007 by Founder & CEO, Glen Curado. The mission statement was pure and simple... Bring healthy, sustainable, organic and locally sourced produce and products to families that would not otherwise be able to afford to eat healthily. The concept of "From Farm to table to soul" was born. World Harvest has fed over 600,000 people in Los Angeles, that's around 15% of our population and costing the city and state $0.00 dollars.
Results: World Harvest has successfully: RECOVER products that would otherwise go to the landfill REDISTRIBUTE products to over 70,000 families in need REDUCE and leave a zero carbon footprint RECYCLE and COMPOST close to 40 tons per month.
