Mission: The mission of wisconsin center for nursing, inc. Is to assure an adequate, well-prepared and diverse nurse workforce for the people of wisconsin.
Programs: The 2016 rn survey was conducted by the state on over 77,000 licensed registered nurses. Wcn contracted researchers and statistician, who analyzed these data and produced a full report of findings and recommendations for the workforce. This report & its accompanying summary brochure have been posted to the website, printed, and disseminated widely. 2016 marked the second year funding from the robert wood johnson foundation for state implementation program (sip) grant to implement recommendations from the 2011 institute of medicine report. The workplan emphasizes nursing degree completion, leader development, and diversity enhancement. The 7th annual statewide conference - transforming health care: opportunities for the wi healthcare workforce - sponsored by wcn and held at the waukesha county technical college emphasized workforce trends and issues. 1. Continued to lead state efforts as the national liason for the action coalition to implement iom report recommendations. 2. Increase collaboration with partners by aligning programs of service. 3. Enhance communication with stakeholders statewide by increasing listserve members, newsletters, facebook, and written reports.
