Mission: The mission of the Winona Health Foundation is to gather, steward, and distribute resources needed to support and advance the mission of Winona Health and its affiliates.
Programs: The Winona Health Foundation assists Winona Health in achieving its mission to improve the health and well-being of its family, friends and neighbors. The geographic scope is the city of Winona and surrounding communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Foundation makes grants and contributions to Winona Health's nonprofit affiliates including Winona Health Services and Winona Senior Services. Winona Health Services includes a 99-bed primary care hospital that also includes an emergency department, rehabilitative and dialysis services, outpatient diagnostics and ambulatory surgery. It also includes primary care clinics in Winona and Rushford, Mnnesota, and specialty clinics including sports and orthopedic specialists, eye care center, pain management center, psychiatric and counseling services, occupational health and urgent care clinic. Winona Senior Services includes lake Winona Manor, a 110-bed skilled nursing facility, Adith Miller and Roger Metz manors, 20-bed assisted living facilities for memory care, Watkins Manor an assisted living facility for 59 seniors, home care and hospice services. In the mid-80s, benjamin a. Miller, a former winona-area businessman and philanthropist, established the ben & adith miller patient care fund in the winona health foundation in honor of his wife, adith. The ben & adith miller patient care fund is a unique community resource that helps individuals and families pay for unexpected medical expenses incurred while seeking care at winona health. In fy2017, the fund helped 812 families pay more than $968,223 in medical bills.
