It is an honor be affiliated with this organization that impacts the lives of working women aspiring for professional success and financial strength.
Board members and volunteers do put their hearts into the mission.
When i discovered this organization and met the board members to learn about how they help women through advice, apparel and advocacy - empowering women to self confidence, I wanted to be part of that. This organization has volunteers that work with thier hearts and I am privileged to now be part of it.
The staff and volunteers at Wings for Success have gone above and beyond this year! 2020 has been difficult for everyone, but after taking a bit of time to figure out how to move forward in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff and volunteers have come through! Our mission to serve women is so important, especially now and they have found creative ways to serve, stay safe and have some fun too. Thank you for all the work you do, you continue to be an inspiration to us all!
Now that I have been with the Board for about a year, I can say I'm even more impressed with Wings for Success! We have a dedicated Board, willing to work together, think outside the box and challenge each other to find new ways to achieve our goals. We also have such a wonderful volunteer base that sometimes it's just amazing to watch as they help our client base. I look forward to continuing our work to help so many special women.
I cant express how grateful I am for Wings for Success. My experience was amazing, from the moment I walked in and the moment I walked out. I felt like a queen for the day.
The women designers were busy picking out outfits, jewelry, purses and shoes while I was trying on an outfit. I felt like I was on a runway walking out of the dressing room for their reception. They certainly had an eye for fashion and were able to whip an outfit up in minutes.
Please ladies keep doing what you are doing for all the women out there searching for employment. Blessings to all. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!
The women could not have been more helpful in dressing me for success. Kelly was amazing in setting up an appointment and directions to their location. Kelly and her staff made me feel at home, they picked out interviews outfits that were fantastic. Truly a wonderful nonprofit with wonderful people.
I was an intern at Wings for Success this summer for one whole month. I had an amazing experience where I learn from how to paint to helping dress clients. I am truly bless for having the amazing and wonderful opportunity of being an intern at an amazing nonprofit organization like Wings for Success. Not only was I an intern, but a client as well. They helped me dress for a Conference I had to attend at Washington D.C. With their experience and kindness I felt such a bless and beautiful person. Wings for Success is always looking for their clients welness and happiness. God bless Wings for Success and may He always give them resources to keep making an extraordinary difference in the lives of many women accross the country, like it has been doing!
I was introduced to Wings for success by the President while attending a meeting at Exton Chamber of Commerce. I have been involved with Wings for a year, the staff, volunteers and board members are so passionate about making sure we provide the best service to the women who walk through the doors of Wings. We provide apparel to our women who are going back into the workforce and/or going through some difficult times. We provide hope, support, love, build self esteem and empowerment.
My passion to give back, through reaching people, changing lives has been fulfilled by volunteering at Wings.
It is a great place to volunteer, such satisfaction!!
When my coworker's house that she was renting burned down and left her with nothing Wings came to the rescue with clothing that allowed her to continue working. This was really vital as she had no renters insurance to replace her belongings. Keep up the great work.
I can't thank 'Wings For Success' and my wonderful stylist enough for the warm experience I had with them a few weeks ago. They kitted me out with approximately eight work-ready outfits that made me look and feel ready for my next endeavor. It came at a time when I really needed a morale boost and a little inspiration. I am happy to report that I was hired last week and will start training for my new job in ten days. Thank you for all that you do to encourage women like me to move in the direction of success. The whole experience was fabulous!
In addition to dressing appointments, Wings for Success offers free workshops or 1 on 1 advice sessions to help women acquire skills that help in obtaining employment and to successfully maintain or progress in their careers.
I have had the pleasure of being involved with Wings for Success for about five years, helping to plan special events and serving on the board of directors. I am continually impressed with the dedication of the volunteers whose time and talents support all aspects of the agency's operations. With a small staff and this volunteer "workforce" Wings reaches out to make a difference in the lives of women in our community. Wings provides clothing, workshops and one-on-one consultations that help vulnerable women striving for economic independence and stability. But I think Wings provides so much more. Our services contribute to a woman's feeling so self-worth and confidence.
It is heartwarming to see the impact that Wings has on the lives of women in our communities.
I started volunteering with Wings for Success about three years ago. I was drawn to their mission and impressed by the volunteer energy and resources that keep the agency running. Wings offers free programs to women in need to provide work-related apparel as well as employment related workshops and personalized guidance to help build the confidence needed to obtain and sustain employment. I am truly amazed by the impact the agency has on the lives of clients we serve--over 11,000 since the agency was founded 20 yeas ago. I am also impressed that the programs and services are coordinated by just three part-time employees and a team of over 120 volunteers who help in all areas of operations from working as personal clothing stylists, to helping with clothing and closet maintenance, office support, and client transportation and coordinating fund-raising, community outreach and communications support. This volunteer involvement and dedication is truly a testament to what a community can do by working together to help one another.
I am continuously impressed by the work that Wings for Success does to empower women in need to pursue employment and economic security. 98% of the women who are helped believe their experience to be highly motivating and helpful in getting themselves to a place where they feel good about seeking employment or upping their "employment game". It makes me proud to be part of an organization that helps so many in such a profound way that it positively impacts these women, their families and their community. Hats off to all the volunteers at Wings for Success! You all truly make a difference in so many lives!
Wings for Success benefits women coming from challenging backgrounds to get back on their feet to get back into the workforce. This non profit engages these women providing an opportunity to gain the confidence needed to enter or re-enter the workforce, staffed with amazing volunteers. The volunteers are passionate, encouraging and loving. This non-profit is near and dear to my heart!
I first became aware of Wings for Success a few years ago after a discussion with a Board Member. I was looking for an opportunity to serve a non-profit in my community, and I couldn't have found a better organization to work with. The impact WFS has on women in my community and the surrounding communities is immense, and knowing that our organization is able to help women reach economic stability and growth is extremely rewarding. I have not regretted my decision to spend my time working with the wonderful people who run the day-to-day operations, as well as the board members who are committed to the success of every woman who comes through the door. I am pleased that they allowed me to serve on their Board, and I am happy to be a part of such an incredible and professional organization.
Excellent organization that has by far the best volunteers compared to many organizations I've worked with. Seeing the impact and the faces of the women they have supported is the best reward.
I support Wings for Success because they serve the working poor in my community. Most of these women consider buying undergarments and even simple clothing for work a luxury. The money they save by coming to Wings allows them to put it toward rent, food or even childcare. Knowing that Wings is making an immediate difference in the community and in the lives of the women they serve is why I give!
I have been volunteering with Wings for Success for a little over a year and have been involved in fundraising and as a member of the Board. I am continually struck by the dedication and love that our volunteers and staff exhibit as they work towards helping women in our community become more self assured, confident and better prepared for the workplace. The entire Wings family is focused on helping to improve the lives of those we serve.
I had an amazing experience from the time I picked up the phone to the time I left.
Everyone was very kind, patient, respectful, and just seemed to really care.
They made sure you left getting a variety of things that looked good on you from braws to shoes and everything in between.
Everyone was great. So glad I found this place when I did. I can’t believe a place like this exits. I have never had an experience like this.
I am thankful, grateful, and appreciative to all who are part of this incredible business. You won’t regret going here.
Wings for Success sure knows how to effectively engage volunteers. What a pleasure spending time helping other women in our community.
I have had the privilege of volunteering with this organization for the past 10 years both in leadership roles and as a volunteer dresser. The work we do is nothing short of transformative for the women we help. The “Wings for Success effect “can be seen each day at our sites. Often times when first walking through our doors, women are downtrodden, overwhelmed, and struggling. After spending an hour of one-on-one time with our trained volunteers a remarkable transformation takes place. By helping women to project a professional image, Wings for Success empowers our clients to feel confident during job interviews, succeed in the workplace, and become financially self-sufficient. We strive for our clients to not only leave with new clothes and skills, but also – most importantly – the confidence to say "Yes, I can do it!"
I've been a volunteer with Wings for Success for 3 years. I started as a career coach for Wings clients in one-on-one job seeker advice sessions. Wings for Success provides apparel and advice for women in need to pursue gainful employment. After the initial dress-for-success session, Wings helps to ensure that the client has the confidence and plans that lead to financial independence. This furthers her sense of self-worth and self-identity that is so important in today's job market. Wings has a set of employment-related, personalized workshops and one on one sessions that assist women as they navigate the process of getting and keeping employment.
This organization is making a major contribution to our community. A kind caring staff who wants to make a true difference in women's lives. We do more than just provide needed outfits for employment, we also help build self-esteem and confidence in each women who enters our door.
Wings for Success is a power house when it comes to the service it provides to women who need a helping hand. Wings helps women by providing appropriate work wear, building confidence, sharing information via workshops and Job Seeker Clinics.
I continue to be inspired by the Wings staff and volunteers including the Board members. I have been a part of the Wings organization as a volunteer and/or Board member for 10+ years. It is an honor to be a part of this team.
I am a volunteer for Wings for Success and work on several committees. The work that is being accomplished by everyone in the organization; both employees (2) and volunteers (120+) is so worthwhile and appreciated by all the clients that are serviced by Wings. Founded in 1997 Wings has helped over 10,000 women obtain clothing, advice and job skills needed to become economically self-sufficient.Wings is the only organization of its kind in Chester County. While other clothing closets do exist, Wings is unique because volunteers spend over an hour with each client, ensuring items fit perfectly and educating on mix and match clothing to stretch limited resources. I am honored to be a part of this TEAM!
I feel so blessed to have learned about and volunteered for Wings for Success. The work done by the volunteers and staff is truly transformative for the people we serve. Our clients are folks from all kinds of backgrounds whose circumstances has brought them to a low place in their lives. Seeming them when they come in - weighed down, struggling, often embarrassed - is heartbreaking. Many of our clients are single moms trying to support their families under difficult circumstances. Our volunteers treat these ladies with utmost respect making each woman feel as special as they are. When they see themselves in their new work attire, you can see their view of themselves change as easily as you can see the tears in their eyes. Wings doesn't just provide much needed clothing, it provides hope, self-confidence, and a chance for a better future. Wings has only two paid staff members and is otherwise volunteer-run which speaks to the strength of belief out community holds in the organization's work. I am honored to be a part of this organization the mission we serve.
I have volunteered at Wings for Success for 5 years and I continue to be impressed with the dedication and support given by all those associated with this non-profit organization. I started as a Stylist and I am now involved in fundraising. It has been a pleasure working with the wonderful women who maintain the inspirational spirit and passion to help women achieve financial security, self esteem and self sufficiency in the community.
I have been a volunteer in several capacities with Wings for about 10 years. What an amazing organization. We serve women in the community by supplying much needed work-appropriate apparel for interviews and subsequent employment as well as hold workshops lead by professionals to help with interviewing and other essential skills for employment of all types. The women that come to us often have had life-changing experiences and leave their personal styling appointment with confidence and a positive outlook.
What I find most impressive is that all that is done, is done well and with only 2 part-time employees and thousands of volunteer hours each year. What an amazing community of women and men that come together from different experiences and backgrounds to lift up our neighbors.
Other notable facts are:
What is donated to Wings financially or in-kind, stays here to help the women in our own community.
Women come to us through referring agencies and from having heard about us in the community.
The apparel we provide is work-appropriate, not only professional attire, but scrubs, black and khaki pants that are often part of a uniform, boots for agricultural jobs and more.
Wings has served over 10,000 women since 1997.
I have been volunteering for WFS for about 17 years now. I have seen this organization grow in leaps and bounds, in every way. The leadership has reached out to many different referral partners empowering those in need offering advice, advocacy and apparel throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware and has brought in over 10,000 clients in need. That's where I come in, as one of my jobs volunteering consists of being a stylist for these women and having the priveledge of boosting their confidence and making them look better than they could even imagine. It warms my heart seeing them walk out the door with bags in tow and a skip in their step knowing they will walk into that interview looking fabulous and feeling special. Every Tuesday Is honestly one of my favorite days. I am truly grateful for Wings for Success and the women I work with throughout the organization!
We are a proud supporter of Wings for Success and their programs that help women in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
I took an intern to Wings for Success to help her understand how she can present herself in a more professional manner. I was quite nervous about how it would go because I didn't want her to be offended and feel like she wasn't capable of this herself. However, as I sat in the lobby and watched others emerge from their appointment, my anxiety lessened with each customer. They were all smiles and standing tall and proud. On our drive back to the office, our intern was so excited and has come to work each day with confidence and professionally dressed. The volunteers at Wings for Success did a great job of teaching without patronizing. Thank you!
Wings For Success has empowered our clients at Friends Association for the Care and Protection of Children to feel confident and comfortable when they enter the workplace. We see women who are uncertain how to differentiate between casual, workplace and evening attire. The staff at Wings for Success have worked with clients with difficult conversation on what is appropriate while also letting them keep their dignity and identity.
The ladies at Wings For Success are truly wonderful!!!! The one-on-one attention that each client gets made me feel like a princess for the time I spent there. Mary Pat (the lady who helped me) took the time to ask me my favorite colors and what type of clothes I was looking for (job interview etc.) Then as I tried the clothes on that she selected for me ,she gave me her honest opinion on what looked right on me and what didnt.Thank you Mary Pat for making me feel special!!!!!!
