Through outreach, engagement, education and advocacy, to empower and support the West Fresno community to achieve optimal health and well being.

Programs: Through its program mission West Fresno Health Care Coalition, Inc (WFHCC) strives to empower the Southwest Fresno community (93706 zip code) to achieve optimal health and well being. It has accomplished this through obtaining grants that fund activities that target the known health care needs of the people in this area. The family-driven, community based, culturally sensitive services currently provided by WFHCC include A) coordination of services need to address specific family issues such as counseling, material assistance, referrals to needed service providers; B) improve family stability by empowering parents increase their effectiveness in nurturing positive growth in their children and enhance positive family relationships through parent skill training, peer support groups, education and healthy well being; C) promotion of the physical and mental health and well-being of residents through immunizations, health education programs, nutrition and physical activity, basic health screening and health insurance enrollments; D) services to encourage education and career development by providing resources needed to obtain employment through job readiness programs, job placement counseling, maintaining a computer lab to increase computer skills, resume writing, financial literacy, etc.; E) helping strengthen family communities through advisory committee leadership, community policing program, efforts to clean up neighborhoods and repair homes, mediation services, cultural celebrations and collaboration with housing and economic development agencies.

I have been very blessed to meet and work along side the group of very inteligent and careing people at WFFRC. The work untiredly with the community, leaders and churches and the people of west Fresno and beyond to bring awareness and information about issues that effect them and their families. As the need grows so does there mission to help all the people in there scope of expertise. They do all these things wilth a smile and a giving heart. They are the angels of awareness and assistance.
