Web Wise Kids is promoting a culture of safety, respect and responsibility for youth and families in this digital world. Educators choose Web Wise Kids' computer programs to teach their students to make wise choices online and when using their cell phones. Over 11 million children throughout the country have learned to detect and deter online predatory tactics. Web Wise Kids has responded to the child- bullying epidemic by creating an online game called It's Your Call, and partnered with School Reach to offer schools a hotline for students to use to stop bullying. I am so very proud to have been a volunteer with this outstanding organization for over 12 years and grateful for their passion to protect our country's youth.
Web Wise Kids creates computer games which help kids experience simulated online experiences. WWK has reached over 11 million middle school kids with these important safety messages through their own interests in technology. I am proud to be a part of the great innovative work WWK does on a national basis.
Web Wise Kids does an amazing job of encouraging children to think about their tech decisions. Everything from texting to sexting to online bullying is covered when students participate in one of their computer games. The kids really learn and the teachers are spared the agony of lecturing them about safety issues. Highly recommended! Also, it is easy to use because their is nothing that has to be photocopied or anything. It is easy for teachers to use.
Web Wise Kids is an amazing organization focused on the well being and safety of children in the online community. With a focus on education of parents and children in advance rather than reaction, Web Wise Kids is taking the neccessary measures to ensure saftety for kids in the digital world. The members of the organization strive for the best possible environment for parents to feel comfortable with their children's safety in the digital age.
Thank you!
As the parent of a toddler, I am already preparing myself for the challenges of this high tech world my son is growing up in. Web Wise Kids makes learning about touchy subjects like cyber-bullying fun and engaging, and I know that my high-tech child will enjoy learning through games when he's older.
I am especially proud to support this organization since they are very driven in prevention work. It only makes sense to me that we try and get kids' attention and teach them what not to do before they are faced with a threatening situation.
I highly recommend supporting Web Wise Kids, and I encourage everyone with children to give their games a try!
Honored to represent this very impactful organization that helps educate our children about the perils of the Internet and empowering them to protect themselves and to use their time and efforts online more wisely.
With cyberbullying, sexting, and predators-- we need organzations like Web Wise Kids to spread online safety messaging. I am honored to be part of this amazing organization! These women care about children and education. This is truly a non-profit contributing to the well being of children.
Thank you for all you do!
Game based learning is fun ! This is why learning technology safety with Web Wise Kids resources is fun! Our whole family has benefitted. Cell phones – my teens live by them – for telling time, texting friends, taking pictures, posting to Facebook, for communicating with teachers and coaches – and Web Wise Kids’ game, “It’s Your Call” has served as a reference point and reminder that cell phones are valuable tools and that texts and photos are permanent - send with care. My teens rolled their eyes when I sat them down to play “MISSING.” But it wasn’t long before all three of us were grabbing the mouse and keyboard to try to solve the codes and get past the game levels that gained entry to the next section (good thing one of us is a ‘gamer!’). This game exemplified what an online predator might say or do – so that my teens might recognize similar behavior when online. “Wired With Wisdom” – I like the ‘bite-size’ game segments that this offers busy parents, like me.
Web Wise Kids games are like good books that you re-read again and again.
Review from Guidestar
I have been actively involved with WWK for a year now. Although my children are older now, I sure wish that I had know about this organization and their amazing education materials for children and parents on ensuring that children have the critical thinking skills when it comes to technology and where technology takes them such as the internet. My children, 17 and 20 are now active and supporting WWK. They have also learned from the education provided and are able to now communicate that to their peers effectively. It gives me great comfort and peace of mind that my children...the future parents of the world, will have this knowledge to pass on to their children who will be born into a technology world. This organization can touch every life, every age and every demographic. And I forgot to mention they do all of this through a medium that children understand and will WANT to learn....creative and interactive video games. Anyone reading this review should feel confident that your valuable dollars will be well spent with this organization.
I was introduced to Web Wise Kids by a friend, and from the moment I met the staff, I would have done anything to help! What a dedicated, hard-working, committed group of people. They truly care about the kids and families they are serving, and are always striving to get information about online safety out to a wider audience.
In the year I have been involved with Web Wise Kids, I have been consistently impressed and inspired by their efforts. It's an organization I am proud to be involved with.
