This grant is a joke , I applied for help when I roommate left me high and dry , with eviction notice got denied, there reason , it was my fault. So I had no place to live .
Then applied for help with my car, my receipt was to generic , which is all I had did everything they asked for over and over again, but since I paid cash and got the money from a friend I was denied yet again, so now I'm left with the lose of friend because I couldn't pay them back, and no help from the grant that is to be there for there employees. It was just for my car it was other bills and I did everything asked for I called multiple times.. no this grant is a joke .

I work for store 2537 . I had to take a LOA because I got pneumonia in my left lung and bronchitis. Wasn't sure if I qualified for Edd or had enough pto or ppto to cover the time away. I heard about the acnt fund and applied. Gave them the correct paperwork it also help having my LOA approved through sedgwick cause everything has been documented and today I got My approval letter. I am beyond grateful and just amazed how good walmart treats their employees when they are having a hard time and need that breath of fresh air and a weight lifted off them in a already stressful time while your trying to heal or whatever the reason. Walmart the acnt fund sedgwick and my coaches and team leads have been nothing less then amazing. This is an amazing charity and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart!

in the application for the acnt fund it states when you click on food that it is available upon request and that no documentation is needed.... so why did they reject my application saying that I needed to provide documentation of hardship? all I need is a little help. I have a wife with severe back problems. she has a cage holding her back together because it was broken in 2016. I have 2 mentally disabled boys and one of them being agoraphobic, I also have a 16 month old son. we hit a snag in the road and not only was I denied but the lady I spoke with from this program was very cold and rude

I tried to get assistance through this fund because I saw that someone else said they were approved for past due bills but I was denied even though I provided a shut off notice. So I was able to pay my bills myself and I saw they had an option to get $200 for food and not have to provide documentation which I could use because I wont have any money for food until next week. They denied that also, said I have to have a hardship to cause me to not be able to buy food which in my opinion working at Walmart part time as I do should be the hardship but ok. I started walk 30 minutes back and forth to my shifts at Walmart recently, on an ankle I sprained at Walmart a couple of months ago, because my car needs breaks and I cant afford them now because I work at Walmart and I have a family to take care of and bills and food to pay for and breaks can take up a full month of a Walmart pay check and I will be behind again but Walmart dosen't understand that and the hardship they have to help with your car the only way to get it is if your car was totaled or stolen not repairs like breaks or god forbid someone needed help because their car was being repoed so they have to walk to a job that really dosent care about because if they did us employees should be able to use the funds for real life situations, but thats Walmart for you.

Walmart & Sam's club takes donations for this trust fund that they do not give to their employees. Dire need can be proven and they will still ask for more documentation! They even asked for a police report if your car is no longer working. What a joke. If you are donating I suggest you stop because nine times out of 10 you won't get help if you need it in the future

Hi I am Brigitte from store 4145. I had health issues couldn't get better had to call out didn't have enough ppto. Racked up some points borderline firing time. So I took a leave of absence, a personal wellness leave of absence. It was approved by Sedgwick. But I was having problems paying for my bills so I heard about acnt and they gave me the runaround. They are supposed to help me with hardship and they gave me hardship. I sent what they asked for. No communication from a human being. If they would just appoint a counselor to an individual application the communication would be much clearer. Not everybody can read a person's comment without knowing what the person is going through. Back and forth back and forth telling me that I didn't give them what they needed they said they needed a Sedgwick approval letter I screenshot it said to them they said they didn't get it I sent my car payments note and affidavit and everything from CarMax they said it doesn't look like a car loan then they said my name isn't on it and clearly my name is on it so I don't know who was doing my application. Frustrating! I don't recommend it and I am disappointed.

I started donating to the acnt critical Needs Trust in 2012 I stopped this April of 2023 because I needed a little help to get over a hump my car had broken down in 2022 wheel off ball bearings axle busted not a car accident it just happened I called the tow truck I called my car insurance company to inform them what had happened and let them know I no longer had that car so at the same time my rent went from $445 to $700 and Walmart had started cutting my hours from 32 to 24 while other people were getting 32 hours of overtime a week and I knew 25 areas of the store including maintenance where I could fill in for hours the acnt asked me to send in my lease agreement my car insurance my electric bill in my name my phone bill everything was in my name for the cost of living sent everything in and they kept asking about a car I no longer had when they don't even help pay for a car or repairs but kept asking for a police report I didn't know you had to have a police report for a car that broke down I thought that was only for collisions sent in all the information in my name everything was current so someone gave me a ticket number to apply for the funds I came across an article such as this one where a person was given seven ticket numbers and he still didn't get any money and they also changed my original case number to a different one so I had two case numbers and they told me to no longer use the first one that I was originally given so I just decided not to pursue the matter any longer I have never had any kind of monetary help from this agency ever so I thought my chances might be good so the people who had applied and we're given help congrats

My daughter is an associate of Walmart and it has been one thing after another for us to get to a point for me to ask her to apply for this grant. I'm usually the one helping people out and it really makes me sick when I just ask for a little bit of help and we get denied when I'm not even asking them to pay that bill that's just one of the reasons why we are in the predicament we're in and they're using that as the basis to deny us when we're literally going to be homeless and by tomorrow. Even after calling customer service and explaining our situation and what we need to help with and what happened to us very briefly. And it killed me to have her do this Grant we spent over 2 hours doing it so it was right only to get denied and then to have the store manager tell her she needs to go to counseling and if she needs to change positions to get some more money but she doesn't qualify for any other positions and she doesn't need counseling because her mental health is fine That's not an issue at all

Walmart I worked for u for 2 years with a disability. I have been struggling with anxiety and major depression since high school. I have mental breakdowns, anxiety attacks, and would usually have to take time off. Walmart Distribution center in Atlanta laid thousands of their employees off, but I decided to transfer to the stores. The process is taking MONTHS. I have no money coming in, no food to eat, no gas for my car, no way to make car insurance payments. I've called ACNT hoping they would help me, but they didn't care. I was denied. I called them; explained this is urgent. The lady said unexpected employment is not approved, even though it was an option. I called HR, they didn't care. I went to the store MULTIPLE times to remind them about my job offer, but they didn't care! I contacted peoples service to let them know no one is approving my job offer at the store, and they didn't help. What I'm going to do now, I want u (,walmart) to know u were a part of the reason. I have no food in my home, bills are behind. there's no point of waiting to get evicted, being homeless, starving, GOING EVEN MAD, if I could just go to sleep forever. I'm tired of crying and worrying when no one cares. this grant doesn't care! Good luck everyone

I am truly thankful to walmart and this grant program. Seeing all the negative reviews made me think I didn't have a chance of being approved for help. However, the opposite happened. My application was approved in about 7 days. I had a colectomy last year and had a temporary ileostomy put in. I had another surgery for j pouch and ran out of short term disability shortly after that surgery. I just had my final ileostomy reversal surgery in September and had zero income coming in. I applied and provided doctor documentation and leave of absence approval paperwork and a bill statement. To my surprise they approved me for my $1300 mortgage bill. I feel so blessed. I just wanted to share my story, so people know that the grant is legit, if you are truly in need and provide the proper documentation.

I have been denied several times for assistance with past due rent and having to leave my residence due to domestic violence. The first time I applied they replied that despite my restraining order, proof of hospitalization and at the time police report less then 12 months old... That I was not eligible bc I didn't reside with the abuser. They provided their definition of domestic violence as "when a person lives or cohabitates with another individual and believes that they are in immediate physical danger". That's not at all the definition of domestic violance. I had to leave my home as he was on the run for the violations of restraining order and also because he knew where I lived and would repeatedly stalk me and cause physical injury. They told me that my hotel stay would only be covered if the balance said past due. I have never ever heard when being homeless or displaced of a hotel allowing you to stay then pay later. I did find a local small motel who allowed me to stay and I promised to pay when it was approved. The receipt was hand written of course and since it didn't come on an official letter head despite being able to contact the location to verify ... I was denied. They didn't have the technology to provide a printed invoice with my name on it. As a result I was evicted from the hotel and had to sleep in my car. Mind you my lease agreement is still active and my rent was always past due. I applied again and again each time giving them what they asked for. I was denied my 3rd try because despite my lease agreement and past due rent notice I couldn't provide a bill for utilities in my name. However my lease stated utilities were included. My 4th and final time was when displacement for domestic violance became a valid reason to apply. This last time they denied me because my restraining order is more then 1 year old and my last recorded act of domestic violance was more then 12 months ago. Despite the fact I have hospital bills and police communication regarding him being on the run and them actively trying to locate him. Now he's been arrested for a few weeks and I can return to my home but I have to pay my rent that is past due. I'm also behind on my car payment. From all previously denied attempts I had to borrow the max against my 401k available. Sell my Walmart stocks and reduce my 401k contributions to 1 percent. I am in counseling and therapy for the extremely violent acts that have taken place. Well over 30k in medical bills from loss of pregnancy as a result of domestic abuse. Why I stopped reporting every incident is because he was on the run and when police would go to serve him the violation he was never present for the arrest but word made it to him that charges were filed. As a result I was physically assaulted and came to work so badly beaten that they sent me home on unpaid leave to recover while seeking help from ACNT who are that time denied me because I couldn't prove we shared a residence. Living with your abuser doesn't make it any less serious or more serious of an issue. If someone wants to hurt you they will do so by any means as I have experienced. Their insulting and bring shame to such an amazing company. They are unable to speak to and do not reply to appeal emails. They are not a nonprofit I would ever recommend donating to or seeking help from in the event or homelessness or domestic violence. One email even indicated that it's a cycle and the abused generally return. The offense nature of this organization and the lack of compassion and lack of ability to speak with a person live to receive answers is insane. They have a phone number who says to appeal you gotta email when you email no one replies. I almost don't want to work for a company that would allow this treatment of their employees by a Walmart owned non profit. Yet I know it's not my facilities fault that this organization is unjust, unfair and completely horrible to deal with. I went to add photos of the printed responses and naturally it says the file can not be uploaded. Good luck to anyone trying for domestic violence reasons. I recommend you applying with a serv representative for advocacy and make sure you have someone professionally to consult with through resources for living otherwise you may find yourself distressed and in mental anguish while fighting to not only save your own life but better it as well. This non profit is not a reflection of Walmart or it's core values and I want to further say that my HR team is the most supportive out of any company I have ever been with. But this non profit is to me a scam of sorts. 4 years and battling homelessness and domestic violence employed with the company for almost 6 years and this grant has never been available to me and no one can understand why. Make. It make sense ACNT! I only chose one star because I had no choice but I rate them a zero.

Hi, my name is Nikki, I recently applied for the help with Associate in Critical Need. My Grandson just died in my pool and I tried to do cpr, with later help from my neighbors and then paramedics he went back to God at the hospital. I have been asking for help with the burial and haven’t heard anything which they said it will be I believe 7 days. After hearing everyone’s review about there experience it really hurts me that they all have similar stories and still are waiting. I have been trying to find the number on line but have gotten all wrong numbers that states that’s the company. Where is the help at that the company I work for Walmart says they have for us?

Hi everybody.
I recently just had covid and it's been triggering underlying health issues that are potentially seizures, in the process of getting diagnosed.I was excited to return to work but unfortunately due to my health issues I can't return to work for safety reasons so I don't have my full time income coming in. I'm in the process of getting this health issue fixed so I can return to work as soon as possible.
I really can't wait for my life to return to normal.
Thank you for reading and the support.

Horrible experience!!. This is not a program I would recommend to anyone. I applied for this the end of august. After my HR manager had to resend the information three different times because they kept saying they didn't receive it they never sent me an email or response to let me know what was going on with it. Every time I called it was the same thing that they didn't have any information. Finally in October they told me that it was declined. The lady advised me to appeal it due to loss of housing. I explained to her that I was forced to move out of a rental house because it was being sold and had less than 30 days to get out. It was going to cost me $1,500 for a new place I had found and I didn't have the money. I found out today that they rejected my appeal because they consider a month to month lease not to be considered a loss of housing. What? First of all the customer service is terrible because they can never tell you what's going on with your claim and they are terrible about responding through email. They request information over and over again only to aggravate you so you will give up on it. Even when you appeal if they come up with some ridiculous excuse as to why it did not get approved. I am sorely disappointed in this program and I would never recommend it to anyone. Don't waste your time by any means!!!

Don't waste your time or energy with ACNT. I did everything they asked for phone numbers every single thing that they've asked for they've been given and yet they still are badgering me as if I'm some kind of con artist or their . Hello. My name is Chayn Vargas, my wife and I We both work in store #2640. We are struggling to make payments for rent. The reason we are so behind is because my wife is not a legal citizen so the money has gone to her greencard renewal. This was around the pandemic. Because of the pandemic, everything was paused or slowed.

She also is suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS) and has deep depression. She lost her license due to very poor vision. We both don't make enough to keep up with rent and tried to keep up but every month it add on. I am on the verge of getting evicted and we have no where else to go. I can keep up with rent if it wasn't so high. My marrage is on the line. I am lost and hurting. Not a threat of any kind, but. My attitude Has gone to depression suicide. I don't want the thoughts but they are there.

If any can help that will be a miracle. I don't expect anything but anything can help.

Thank you and stay safe out there.

I am a current associate at 641 in Greenville SC I submitted a request for assistance with my rent due to the fact my co- tenant has moved out and did not help me with the bills prior to him moving out. ACNT requested documents and I made my landlord aware of what I needed and she left everything that I handed them to submit was left at my apartment door. So today they called me into the office because they suspect the documents had been tampered with. Yes I wrote a statement everything I handed management was given to me from my landlord. Now they are talking about Ethics. Management at 641 has given me a hard time since I was rehired. Walmart has changed and not for the better. I wished I never asked for help. It's better if you do on your own I know for a fact that the store manager or co- manager don't care for me and that's fine cause I have had better managers then them.

Our experience at trying to help someone who applied for this assistance was horrible!
Walmart apparently tells its employees that approvals take around 1-2 wks. We had an apartment for rent and a Walmart employee contacted us about using this (AICNP) benefit to help her get back on her feet. She was a nice woman who found herself in a bad situation for the first time and needed some financial assistance. She was told she needed a signed rental agreement and letter from the landlord/rental company to turn in to her manager so she could show proof of necessity of funds for her application($900 in all). We agreed to do this for her of course and I prepared the paperwork and had it back to her to email to Walmart the next morning. To make a long story short, they jerked this poor woman around for over 6 weeks then denied her application for assistance. She ended up homeless and our small family business lost over 6wks of income trying to be good samaritans working and waiting with her. And from the comments I have read here and other sites this apparently is not an uncommon occurrence!! Shame on you WALMART. So much for Immediate Assistance and Relief for your employees.

After 21 years with the company I needed help feeding and shelter of my family. I asked for help. They made me jump threw hoops, and then did not help me. I am without power and food for my children and they don’t care. The associates that lie and make stuff up get the help they need but the ones that truly need it don’t. I have always made sure associates knew about this help and always directed them to the person to help but when I needed it I got nothing.

I have been working for Walmart for 20 years , I loved my job then and still do. In 2015 got diagnosed with cancer, I had surgery to remove the cancer but have had to continue seeing and oncologists for the next five years, some how the cancer affected my legs so I had to have several PET scans , the last one was denied by aetna so I asked for help from the ACNT fund, I was told they couldn't help with that, that I should submit something showing that I've been late on rent, so I submitted paperwork showing I was late, but then they said show us where you've had yo pay out of pocket for medical bills. I did that, the issue is I dont have the money, I have to see the oncologists every three months. I had an aggressive cancer, I just want to live!! I have been faithful to Walmart ,I love Walmart but walmart doesnt love me. Its have been over 25 days and Im still waiting. When all else fails, I will lift up my eye to the hills which cometh my help, my help cometh from the lord. For all of those that need alittle help right now, I pray for u, as I pray for myself , for prayer changes people and things. Be Blessed

I am an associate at Walmart in the 3549 store in Keene,NH. I’ve been there for almost 8 years. I love my Walmart family. They have all been wonderful to me despite all that I have been through with my health. I have epilepsy, and my seizures are not well controlled. This causes me to miss days, sometimes weeks of work. My husband has MS, and is unable to work. He gets retired veterans pay for his time in the Navy, and Social Security Disability Income for his MS once a month. We also live on the small amounts I get in my paychecks every two weeks from missing so much work. We live in low income and disabled housing. We are just barely getting by. Living paycheck to paycheck.
I will be going in to the hospital for testing in September to see what further treatment can be done. I’m not asking for a lot of help. Just a little to get us through the Summer until my doctors can figure out a treatment plan for my difficult seizures. Thank you so much. Your help is greatly appreciated, and God bless you all.

I have worked for Walmart in SC for 3 years. I was homeless for 6 months with my husband. Personnel manager told us about the fund. We didn't have the correct paperwork then but when taxes came back we were able to get a place. Shortly after moving in our home we gained full custody of his 4 yr old son and then... both of our jobs cut hours BAD. We have been behind in rent for 2 1/2 months now. Our landlord gave us an eviction notice and we turned it in to my managers for the ACNT app along with our lease agreement and the next 2 eviction notices we received afterwards. I waited for almost 4 weeks before being told that my app was processed and denied because eviction does not fit the criteria for emergency funds? HOW? We are facing being homeless once again with a toddler because we can not get help. Doesnt help that they still refuse to give more hours. Power bill shot up to $630 after our house was broken into on the 2nd day of being moved in...landlord wont fix the windows so our home reaches 91 degrees every single day which is why our power bill jumped sky high. We barely have any food in our fridge. Me and my husband barely eat because we give our food to his son to keep him healthy. We have insurance lapsed and vehicle payment almost $300/mo. Was denied food stamps because apparently we make to much yet cant pay the bills. I have called EVERY single organization in SC for help with bills. No help. Walmart was our last option. I guess you have to worse off than us to actually receive help from anyone. I would say that if you recieved help from the ACNT then youre blessed because not a soul will help us. I've spent 3 years devoted to a job that doesn't care about helping me.

I heard about ACNT from a co-worker and inquired with HR about it and per HR an associate can receive assistance of up to $1500 total only, once you hit the maximum $1500 limit the fund will not provide any further assistance and the program will not provide any further assistance for the duration of employment. I needed help with my car payment and I was told they will provide me the assistance and when I turned in the invoice I was told I would receive the check within 5 days. But the next day I was informed that they can't help me because I have been there less than one year. Does anyone know if they make exceptions for an associate who's been there less than one year but is in dyer need of assistance?

I applied back in September when I was getting evicted from my house. I have turned in paperwork after paperwork and still have not received any word on whether or not they are gonna help. My landlord was understanding at first and now I'm in danger of being homeless right before the holidays. It says it is for associates in critical need of help and I think I've more than qualified for it and still received nothing. How much more critical does it need to be?? How long do I need to wait before hearing anything?

I have put in for acnt and have turned paperwork and more paperwork in that they asked for. I am behind on my rent for trying to save the money to get my car fixed which is going to cost me at least $2100. Now after some time they want more paperwork on why I am late on rent when I have told them why, etc. I know others in my store have gotten acnt for just saying they have an emergency and they got the money quick. I dont think it is right. I need my car but they dont care as long as I find a way to get to work. I'm also going to have to move on top of it all for being late on my rent for trying to save the $ so I can get my car fixed.

Its all bull if you ask me, i got flooded out in Louisiana due to the great flood we had in August, relocated to Texas where my job was transferred, but unfortunately I didn't start working until 3 weeks after i got here, Which put me behind on my rent, and utilities. Signed up for the critical care funds, and still have yet to hear anything from them. Not to mention i gave them my eviction notice, and electric bill disconnect notice, still nothing. I guess they help who they want

I work for Walmart, my husband also worked for Walmart. My husband was terminated after getting hurt on the job. We have received no workers comp for him and I am the only one working. I pay for all of our families expenses and his medical care for his accident that occurred at work. We have six children, 5 of which are disabled and bills have gotten behind. Wal-Marts critical need program has done nothing for my family. Not one electric bill, water bill, no help at all. I think they have this program, deny everyone in an attempt to make the company look good.. really its a joke

Need help?
