I recently had the privilege of joining VFS, and I truly feel blessed to be a part of an organization with such a noble and important mission of serving our seniors.
Pratima and Rama are the heart and soul of this incredible organization. Their unwavering commitment to serve our seniors is inspiring, and they’ve transformed their dream into a reality. VFS not only supports seniors but also empowers them to live their lives with dignity, respect, and joy. Their leadership is truly something to be admired, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside them. Kudos to Pratima & Rama.
One of the things that has truly stood out to me about VFS is the energy and positivity of its volunteers. Everyone is so passionate, energetic, and incredibly committed. They bring a level of enthusiasm and dedication that’s simply commendable. I am personally looking forward to every opportunity to volunteer at their workshops and events, knowing that I’m contributing to something truly meaningful.
The most rewarding part of volunteering with VFS is seeing the smiles on the faces of the seniors we serve. There’s nothing more heartwarming than witnessing their joy and knowing that you’ve helped make their day a little brighter. It fills my heart with pure joy & happiness.
I’m so thankful to VFS for giving me this opportunity to serve such a noble cause. I also want to extend my warmest wishes to Pratima and Rama as they continue their amazing work. May their journey be filled with even greater success and fulfillment.
By being part of VFS, I’ve not only found a purpose but also a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to making a positive impact. It’s truly been an uplifting experience, and I’m looking forward to all the wonderful moments with VFS family.
I have been in close contact with a diverse cross section of non-profit organizations, but Volunteers for seniors (VFS) has appealed to me like no other has. It has evolved out of an authentic perception of needs for a prominent section of population that we all relate to, but remain mostly inert in our response to them. Pratima and Ramakrishna Penumarthy, the force behind VFS, are so strongly aligned with the core purpose of this organization, that their commitment and focus come naturally. Everything they do is follows meticulous planning and execution, that is only getting better with time and their experience. It is astounding to fathom that this is not their "day job," but an incredibly passion driven commitment that is in addition to their day job. The seniors in communities all around eastern Massachusetts benefit in emotional, cultural, creative, physical, and all other aspects of their lives that simply wouldn't exist had VFS not being around. Pratima has a deep roster of volunteers who are just as committed and selfless in their pursuit of uplifting and nurturing the lives of seniors in their communities--the volunteers are constantly inspired by the role model of the leadership they follow. I wish VFS continued success and that more seniors would come under its care and enrich their lives.
Solid and a great non profit organization with a mission of serving one of the most important segment of human society, seniors. Truly appreciate Pratima's effort and wish her all the success in this mission.
I was very much impressed when I met Pratima and Rama who are doing a great job for us seniors through their non profit organisation with the mission to stay "Energetic and be active participants to reduce loneliness and isolation" with the vision "To engage the communities by empowering seniors, they live life to their fullest potential and age productively with dignity".
They care the seniors by providing different entertainment programmes like Music and Poetry, Karaoke Fun, Dance Workshops, Talent shows(Fashion Walk, Standup Comedy, Singing, Art Workshops and so many others. Also they arrange Workshops on Health, Podiatry, Alzheimers Disease, Tae Kwando, Healthy Sleep Habits etc.
All these programmes help us seniors to "Age In Place", means ability to live in your home or Community as you get older while still having access to support you need to live safely and independently.
Their regular entertainment programmes keep seniors mix up with Community members, removing the feeling of being alone or separated or apart from others and promote social contacts and interactions, saving seniors from threat to mental and physical health.
Their Health Fairs provide general information about health and preventive medicines, Screenings and assessments- blood pressure, sugar level, cardiovascular health. These checks and assessments avoid greater health risks and provide early treatment of certain conditions.
Thanks and congratulations to them for their selfless service to the society and their whole hearted support to seniors for living their life with dignity and happiness.

VFS is a great Org founded by Pratima and Rama, who does Selfless service to seniors , an invaluable act of compassion and dedication ensuring our elders live with dignity, respect, and comfort. It reflects a deep commitment to giving back to those who have shaped our society, recognizing the wisdom and life experiences they hold. Offering care, companionship, and support to seniors—whether through volunteering at COAs, or simply being a listening ear—creates a meaningful impact that enhances their quality of life. Kudos to them for hosting walkathons, meet-and-greet events, and wellness fairs aimed at promoting physical well-being, social interaction, and overall health!
I am beyond inspired by the tremendous work this nonprofit organization does for our community’s seniors! They go above and beyond to ensure that our elders receive not only the care they need but the dignity, respect, and compassion they deserve. From providing essential services like meals, transportation, and health check-ups, to offering companionship programs that bring joy and purpose back into the lives of so many, this organization (Volunteering for Seniors) truly embodies the spirit of service.
Their dedication is unwavering, and you can feel the impact of their work in the smiles and stories of the seniors they help. They don’t just treat seniors as recipients of charity, but as valued members of the community with wisdom, experiences, and voices that matter. The volunteers and staff approach every interaction with warmth and understanding, fostering a sense of belonging that many seniors lose as they age.
It’s clear that this nonprofit understands the importance of connection, and they work tirelessly to combat isolation and loneliness, which are all too common among our elderly population. They are a beacon of hope and support for both seniors and their families, offering resources and programs that allow older adults to age with grace, independence, and happiness.
If you’re looking to support an organization that is making a real, tangible difference in the lives of seniors, this is it. Their commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly in our community is truly inspiring, and I am proud to stand behind their mission. Keep up the great work to help the community and most importantly THANK YOU for all you do!
