Mission: The volunteer center exists to mobilize volunteers and resources to improve the quality of life in washington county. Our primary goals are: 1) to promote and expand opportunities for voluntary service, 2) to support nonprofit partners by providing volunteers, resources and innovative leadership training, 3) to build coalitions and community partnerships to address community needs through volunteerism. We're working to build a community where every person discovers their power to make a difference, through engaging programs like the do good bus, champions of change, camp super hero, and our newest venture, a volunteer- run coffee shop called the hub.
Programs: In 2017 the volunteer center connected 8,072 volunteers with meaningful service opportunities throughout washington county. Volunteers donated more than 725,000 hours to benefit our nearly 50 nonprofit member organizations. Using the wisconsin value of a volunteer hour (23. 06), the impact value of our 2017 volunteers totaled nearly 17 million. Our innovative programs take community engagement far beyond our everyday volunteer matching and agency support services. The do good bus teaches riders about the needs facing our community and opens their eyes to the simple, yet powerful, ways they can make a difference. Camp super hero educates youth about local nonprofits and the power of service through the summer months and beyond. Champions of change celebrates the incredible impact of our local volunteers. And our newest program, the hub - social good brews, inspires people to give back through the simple act of gathering over cofffee. We're proud to serve washington county and the many generous people that call our community home
