I use to work at the local Orange shelter before they moved the facility over to Irvine. I know both Eduardo and Karla from the Orange animal Shelter. They would volunteer there and were consistently active within the facility. They rescued and fostered there for many years. I am so happy to know they are now behind the Vegan Loba nonprofit . I am not surprised these two kind hearted and generous individuals would start a nonprofit that would provide support for animals as well as the community. I now volunteer for their fundraising events. We had one dog come into our facility years ago and she had been retuned a couple times by the families that had adopted her. Interestingly enough they decided to take her home. She was going to be euthanized because she had been there so long and had been returned to the shelter for aggressive behavior. They still have Matilda. I know how difficult it was to rehab Matilda. The love, patience all the nurturing they did with her is not something that can be looked over and not be admired. They had a very difficult time with her but they didn’t give up. Matilda had come into our facility severely malnourished and had suffered a lot of abuse. Her back legs had masses, growths under her muscle tissue from all the abuse she had been through. It’s very common to see animals come into the facility with these injuries. Due to all this abuse she had become aggressive and fearful I think. Most animals don’t break out of those patterns easily. It takes a-lot of care and patience to rehab abused animals. Karla and Eduardo brought life back to that little fur ball. I saw Karla working with Matilda in ways I had never seen before. I saw her using music therapy, reiki crystal healing, puppy play dates, nature walks, aromatherapy and even taking her to acupuncture. Karla practices reiki healing and loves to incorporate it into her work with the rescues. She did everything she could to bond and connect with Matilda on a daily basis. It was a long road because it took over a year for Matilda to heal. Not everyone has that love, patience, dedication and soul for rehabbing an abused animal. During my time at the shelter I saw so many people give up on animals because of the behavioral issues they had due to the abuse they had experienced in the past. I greatly admire all the love that they have for helping animals, all the volunteer work and support they gave us at the shelter.

I have been a volunteer for Vegan Loba on multiple events within the elderly community facility food program they ran during the pandemic. It really enjoyed working with the team and all the time I spent with them preparing for the food lunch services. I can tell they have a passion for sharing their love for living a plant based life while sharing with all of us why it’s so very important. Karla really goes into depth talking to the residents about the multiple ways a vegan lifestyle connects to our planet, community and the animals. Not only did I get to enjoy great food, be part of a great team but I also learnt so much during the course of their work in the retirement facility. Karla and Eduardo go above and beyond for the residents and their mission work. They are hard working, reliable and honest through all of their work. They ran the food program through their fundraising and I was able to see them work tirelessly through the pandemic but they made it work so that they could deliver the meals to the residents. They create strong teams and work together by also supporting others through the mission. I have seen Karla work side by side with all the volunteers, supporting them every step of the way and always being so positive.

I am a vet Dr. Michael Cavelli and I have been very fortunate to have met Vegan Loba. They have been helping us foster and rescue animals. We run a full vet clinic but we also have animals that are abandoned all the time in front of out clinic. I met Karla through my friend Mariana about 10 years ago at a church event. Karla and Eduardo were already working with the Orange Shelter before connecting with me so they were experienced in fostering. They immediately teamed up with me and have been supporting us with food for the animals, vaccine and spay/ neuter costs. It's incredible how much love they have for the animals. Now that they have the nonprofit it's even more exciting because we have done vegan adoption lunches where they provide free lunch for the people coming in for pet adoption. There are so many animals and we are always looking for ways to help as many animals as possible. We have run one adoption event this year at a local park in Westminster in January of this year. It was very positive because they share all the benefits of going vegan and how much love there is for all animals within a vegan lifestyle. Their support over the years has been strong. Karla has been running a local (TRN) trap Neuter release program for stray cats. She brought in an injured kitten they found, sadly it passed away. After that she and Eduardo stated setting the kennels and bringing them for neutering. It helps save lives and improve the lives of the stray cats. She knows all about releasing them back into their personal communities. We only hold them 24 hours after surgery and she does the rest. I am so happy to know they are now running their nonprofit because I have personally seen all the love they have for all animals and how much they enjoy helping our community. Attached are pictures of the most resent stray cats they are caring for and preparing for the (TRN) A lot of stray cats weren't socialized early in life so they can't be placed in adoption. Kittens are rescued and neutered along with the parents or parent.

I help administrate a small elderly facility in the city of Orange. I have known Karla and Eduardo for many years now. They have volunteered at our elderly facility for the last 8 years. Karla has a natural way of connecting with all our residents. When they started Vegan Loba we were going through the middle of the pandemic. They would come and setup the food truck outside for all our residents to receive free lunch. They promote a vegan lifestyle for the animals and environmental reasons. They also shared in depth why a vegan lifestyle would benefit all of our residents. During the pandemic we really needed help because all of our residents were already struggling with everyday things like shopping and going out for groceries. The bus that would take them shopping wasn't able to run the same way it was running so grocery shopping was slower in our weekly scheduling. We were receiving prepped lunches every Friday's for the residents from another organization but the residents preferred Vegan Loba over the prepped lunch because they felt a difference when eating plant based vs non plant based. The residents shared positive feedback such as less bloating, less digestive issues and feeling more energetic. I know the residents also enjoyed learning about the many environmental benefits to living a vegan lifestyle. They made things fun for the residents. Food is amazing too. The birria tacos and Pastor tacos were some of the residents favorites. I also benefited from Vegan Loba coming in and sharing all this information with us. I am currently transitioning to vegan and a-lot of the residents also are adjusting their diets to more plant based. The truck was scheduled once per week and then we were very lucky to have them add more days and come in 3 days per week. I have known Karla and Eduardo for years but when they shred their no-profit with us we were so happy to have then provide the free lunches for the residents in Orange. During the pandemic they were providing the free lunches 3 days per week and helping us in the facility with essential items delivery for the residents on the side. They really gave us so much support during the pandemic. Karla also brings in her rescue animals to visit the residents and they spend time in the garden entertaining and playing games. I am happy to see how they have grown their love for helping the community and made it into their everyday work for all the things they are passionate about.

Thanks Melody. We made it through the pandemic working as a team. We did it together. Thank you for all the support and helping us start our very first official project with the food truck. We love the residents, are very appreciative of all the support you and your staff also gave us during the pandemic so that we were able to setup the vegan lunch program for the residents.

Vegan Loba sponsored an educational event at our church. It was based on the need to spread awareness on healthier eating habits and building a healthier lifestyle. It was an excellent event because they taught us about so many alternatives and they gave the class in Spanish and provided vegan dinner for all the church members. Currently we have a lot of members struggling with diabetes, hypertension, lactose intolerance and so many other illnesses. Vegan loba not only talked about the many health benefits but also the environment benefits and ethical benefits to living a vegan lifestyle. We can’t wait to have them back. The members really enjoyed it and have made changes to their diet and daily lifestyle.
