The software ushahidi continues to create - ushahidi platform, crowdmap, crisisnet, swiftrner and pingapp - are open source, free, and intended for a range of social purposes worldwide, whether it be to monitor elections or a crisis,gather crowdsourced data about violence against women, collect data on human rights violations, or to map corruption instances.

Ushahidi uses creative and cutting-edge solutions, many of which use mobile and web technology to amplify the voices of citizens and support governments to listen and respond.
