Uwycs expanded role in the community through collective impact initiatives and programs have increased the capacity of local agencies and organizations to address priority issues. Increased access to services through uwycs 2-1-1 information and referral system, familywize prescription card and leveraged resources help meet growing needs related to four impact areas: education, financial stability, health, and basic needs. childcare initiative: uwyc participated in the united way association of south carolina and department of social services partnership to leverage additional federal funding to support local child care programs. For a united way to participate in the program, support must be allocated to an agencys program that provides childrens child care services. Uwyc supports the following agencies that meet the criteria: boys and girls clubs of york county and the upper palmetto ymca. These two agencies gained an additional total of $7,302 from the uwasc/dss partnership.
