Programs: Public land conservation, monitoring and restoration: research, prioritize, comment and appeal timber sales within umpqua basin (includes 1. 5 million acres of public lands) advocating sound stewardship. Benefits the economy for 105,000 people in basin. Active collaborator for the crater lake wilderness proposal.
community outreach, education and events: improve communication with public agencies, private landowners and industry through monthly public forums, films and nature hikes; hosting three major annual events (150-300 attendees each). Distribute 2000 newsletters per year and bimonthly email updates.
youth education: hire and train approx. 12 youth for 3 months biological survey work. Create and implement wilderness education curriculums, including friday environmental education for 30 students.
