I was so impressed with how thorough and helpful Twenty Paws Rescue was from the moment I spoke with them (almost 7 years ago) and still to this day! They were patient and helped me figure out what pup was best for me and made sure I was the right fit for him. Finding the right home for Jax was their first priority and I can’t imagine my life without my best friend! Literally the best and most profound experience.. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Twenty Paws! Jax is the love of my life and I will forever be so grateful to our friends at Twenty Paws! ❤️
I fostered and ultimately adopted my dog through this amazing organization. They are organized, effective, and more than anything, deeply committed to their cause. The efforts they make to give rescue dogs a second chance is unparalleled. Highly recommend!
Twenty Paws Rescue is an amazing non-profit that keeps the welfare of it's animals as a first priority. When we adopted BoBo we were put through a thorough interview, home inspection, and reference review process. They certainly do their homework and continued to follow up in order to make sure that BoBo was being well cared for and loved. These ladies do an amazing job rescuing, and placing these (in many cases) hard-to-re-home pups. I highly recommend adopting, fostering, or volunteering with this group. Bobo is still living his best life almost 10 years later!!!
I was casually looking for a second dog to add to our family but the one I inquired about was already adopted. They didn’t just pass it up, they reached out and actively worked with me to find the most amazingly wonderful boy that we could have ever hoped for. He was a dog that really needed the right fit and they never gave up on him. We can’t thank them enough!

Went to them about a dog I saw on their website but was no longer available. They listened to our needs and found us the perfect match. They were very thorough in their screening process and helped us all along the way despite how far we live. They are an amazing rescue and I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know.
We adopted our sweet Bella from Twenty Paws. This great organization brought her from North Carolina where she was in horrific conditions. Thanks to Twenty Paws we have discovered that Bella is an athlete. She swims and catches the ball like a pro. Our grandchildren love her!
Twenty Paws goes above and beyond to creatively work to save animals. My daughter in Korea needed help in the States to rescue some Korean dogs and Twenty Paws helped without hesitation.
We have adopted several dogs through TPR, it is always nothing but a great experience. Rachel has a heart of gold and truly cares about each dog she places.
Twenty Paws Rescue is amazing! They always do their best to help the dogs that cross their paths. They kept my dog safe until I could adopt her.
They responded and rescued our dog from a kill shelter in Brooklyn. He was hrs from being put down and we fostered him for 3 yrs because he was in need of some much needed wind down time. He was abused and fighting for his life. If Twenty Paws Rescue didn't step in we would not have our Sammi today. He went to the vet today for vaccines and the vet said he is a very misunderstood dog. His aggressive barking is not to attack or bite. He is doing this for attention. Negative attention. Like we said. He just wants to be loved by everyone. He seems to think that Sammi got very little attention prior to us fostering him and definitely was abused. Twenty Paws Rescue helped save his life so we could love him. Thank you so much for all your rescue group does. It is amazing to see how with a lot of love and patience and a second chance that any dog can change. Thank you Twenty Paws for all you do.
Twenty Paw Rescue saved my Piggy's life, when she was left to die in the heat of summer 2016. This dog brought so much joy into my life and the lives of so many who she met on her way and Piggy loves almost everyone she meets. Eventhough Piggy, who's cancer survivor, still fighting so many health issues, due to the life of abuse prior to her rescue Piggy's immune system was damaged, her life is worth fighting for.
Twenty Paw Rescue saves lives of so many defenseless, abused dogs, providing medical care and training, taking care of their needs until they are adopted. Every dog's life is so worth fighting for.
Rachel, the director of TPR, is always easy to contact with any of my concerns and is very supportive throughout .
Thanks TPR for bringing this precious dog into my life ❤️
We adopted our Finn about 2 1/2 years ago. Twenty Paws Rescue works endlessly to save these dogs and find them forever homes. They were a pleasure to work with and their love shows through their work. Our family is forever thankful for the opportunity and bringing our Finn to us.
I had a wonderful experience with TPR. They help with every step of the rescue process and genuinely care about the animals they place. Whether you're looking foster, adopt, or volunteer, I highly recommend Twenty Paws!
OMG Twenty Paws Rescue is an amazing organization! I recently rescued this guy from their organization. They were great to work with, and they truly care about every pet they rescue. God Bless all of their volunteers that help save these babies.
When my dog chelsea was found scavenging for food on the streets of NYC, she was emaciated and sick. She had just had puppies who were nowhere to be found and she was lactating and uncomfortable. The woman who found her knee if she’d gone to a city shelter she would have been put down immediately. She found Twenty Paws Rescue, who put out the search for a foster. She was sick and she was suffering but they saw the light in her eyes and her sweet disposition. I saw the call for help for Chelsea and stepped in to foster. 12 years later, she’s still with us and she’s the queen of the castle. TPR was so supportive along the way and provided resources and helped us as first time fosters. Over the years I’ve followed how many lives they’ve saved and the dedication they have to their mission. I always recommend TPR to anyone looking for fosters or adoptions, and I will never go anywhere else. :)
I began my relationship with Twenty Paws in 2009 when we adopted our Tanner. Their care in ensuring our home and our personalities were a match was unparalleled. We continued our relationship with them via financial support and when Snoopy came to them they immediately thought of us and Tanner got a brother. We are heart broken we Tanner crossed the rainbow bridge 3 weeks ago and Snoopy is well. Always grateful to this wonderful organization

Twenty Paws connected my family to Murphy, our boxer/lab mix. Our lives have never been the same! He is a perfect fit for our family and everyone connected to Twenty Paws was amazing to work with! They walked us through every step of our adoption and even came with me to the pick up! I can’t tell you how highly I recommend this organization and how grateful we are to have the last piece to complete our family!
We adopted Peg, now Piper, from Twenty Paws in May of 2021. They were very thorough in vetting us which shows how much they care about finding the right family for each dog. We originally were interested in a different dog but after talking with Wendy she felt “Peg” would be a better fit for our family. She was right! We drove 5+ hrs. to get our sweet girl and fell in love instantly. Wendy made the whole process easy for us and still keeps in touch to check in. So happy that we chose Twenty Paws.
When I was looking to add a dog to my home, I knew it was important to find a dog that needed saving. I found my boy Benji via Facebook and applied to adopt him right away. I was so impressed with how thorough the adoption process was - Twenty Paws did a virtual home tour, interviewed two associates and my vets and conducted in-depth interviews with me to make sure I was matched with the right dog. I made the five hour drive to adopt Benji and we’ve been best friends ever since. Benji had a tough history and my life is more fulfilled knowing I’m giving him the life he deserves after a tough start. None of this would be possible without Twenty Paws Rescue. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and I know they have made a difference for thousands of people and animals alike.
I adopted my dogs, Chester and Chelsea from Twenty Paws in 2019. This rescue truly cares and loves all animals. I also adopted Holly from South Korea, but due to circumstances and interactions within the home, Holly did need to go to a foster. Twenty Paws worked diligently with me to find a caring foster, and Holly is thriving. After losing my husband last year, I don’t know where I would be without C&C…and I am so grateful to Twenty Paws for letting me adopt them! They bring joy to my life every day ♥️
I adopted my Nina (shih tzu) from Twenty Paws this past December 2017. They were a pleasure to work with. I know they checked my references thoroughly, answered all of my questions directly and honestly, and Rachel Elizabeth was just a pleasure to deal with when she visited for the home inspection (and punctual!). She was very sweet to my other shih tzu, Billy, as well. Twenty Paws truly loves animals, seeks to get the best fit for pet and human, and their people skills are nothing to sneeze at either. They are very considerate and kind.

I wanted to foster any second dog that I'd adopt into the family. When it's just you, it's easier to direct adopt, but if you're already a unit with an existing dog, a trial period makes sense. Nina - a 6 year old, 11 lbs. shih tzu charm ball - was not available for foster. I went ahead with the direct adoption because Twenty Paws gave me a thorough picture of Nina, and Rachel offered a few excellent tips to help everybody's period of adjustment proceed smoothly. Result - I trusted Twenty Paws, and felt confident and secure taking Nina home when we finally met. I think she and Billy (my 8 year old shih tzu), and certainly me, continue to feel that way as we enjoy our lives together.
To a person, Twenty Paws is responsible, generous of heart, and considerate. Rachel showed up bang on time for the home "inspection", and spoke with honesty and respect. There are no communication issues w/Twenty Paws. They're accessible.
I believe Twenty Paws would rather manage expectations than hype up one of their precious animals. You're not going to find hidden issues they never clued you in on. Each owner is different - something that might not even register on one person's radar might be important to someone else, so Twenty Paws takes nothing for granted. They have too much respect for their "fur babies" as well as for prospective adopters. I think this shows a lot of savvy and experience, and helps ensure that the adoptions they facilitate work out. It worked for me. I met Wendy, Nina's wonderful foster, in the middle of a weekend snow storm in New Jersey, an hour from both our homes in each direction. And I'd gotten lost. Yet when both dogs were securely settled in my car, I felt just great going home, no second thoughts at all. I felt that I knew Nina already, knew what to expect, and I think my confidence was contagious to both Billy and Nina. This is a trustworthy, transparent, honest rescue that "gets" not only pets, but a whole range of owner expectations. Lest it be assumed Nina has "challenges" she does not. She's a lovely little dog, and I'm simply the lucky one. But even in a case like hers, Twenty Paws takes nothing for granted.
TPR reached our pup euthanasia 4 years before we found her. They knew she was special and amazing and they committed to saving her even though it was difficult to find her a home. As much as I wish our girl had been in a home all this time, she has been my best friend for the last 2 years and she completes our little family and I feel so blessed that she is our dog.
We got our dog two years ago and we highly recommend Twenty Paws Rescue. They treat the animals and the humans with great respect. One thing we also really appreciated was their good and fast communication. They really make sure our little friends get to their right new owners and have a good life there.
I adopted my little terror Melfina from them. They really care to check that the homes the dogs up for adoption are good for the dog.
They care about the animals and I hope to adopt from them again one day.
I’m so thankful that I stumbled upon TPR almost one year ago. The TPR crew is so helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about all of their rescues.
My fiancé & I adopted our first babe, Damien in October 2017. The adoption process was so smooth that we adopted another pup, Noam in July 2018. Again, Rachel went above and beyond to assist with the transition as well as assimilating Noam into our family.
Damien & Noam bring so much love and happiness into our home. Thank you so very much, TPR!!
These guys are the real deal. They are dedicated volunteers who sacrifice a lot (sometimes all) of their personal time to aid in the rescue and placement of as many animals as they can! They will help you pick the right pet for you, and follow up to make certain everything went well. Cannot recommend them enough!! Great job guys!! Keep up the great work.

I fostered a twenty paws dog about 5 years ago. The volunteers at twenty paws pulled her out of a kill shelter, arranged her foster care, had her fixed/chipped, arranged her ride from Georgia to Rhode Island, set me up with a vet who provided a free check up, gave me some toys, a collar, a leash and did everything they possibly could to help me. I adopted my awesome dog within days of her arrival. They even stay in touch and somehow remember all of their dogs by name! I highly recommend this rescue to anyone looking to foster and/or adopt a pet!
Our rescue dog from Twenty Paws saved us as much as we saved her. Working with Twenty Paws was seamless and exciting. They went through a long process to ensure that we were the right adoptive parents including a phone interview and home visit. It felt very professional and assured me that these animals were truly cared for. We are also grateful to the foster family that took care of our dog before we found her. Our rescue dog and experience with Twenty Paws was amazing.
Twenty Paws Rescue is an amazing nonprofit that connects pups with their forever homes. If it weren’t for TPR we would have our sweet and adorable Taylor. TPR met with us and our 6 year old Chihuahua Connor and matched us up with her. We love her so much and can’t imagine a life without her.
We adopted Bluie from Twenty Paws back in 2014. We love how they have maintained contact to this day, and have created a community of adopter families who we continue to look to as resources.
I saw a cute pup on the internet and fell in love. I had no idea how thorough they would be which was fine since i knew I was a good home and respected their concern. I got to pick my boy up at foster care a few weeks later. TPR checked up with me to see how we were adjusting. They were there for me when I had questions. The rest is history. We just passed our 5th gotcha day.
Twenty Paws is made up of a binh of angels! Their tireless work brought me my Marley, rescued with two brother and his mother from a puppy mill in OH, Marley is now in his forever home! We would have never known that this sweet soul was out there, needing us, and we needing him, to complete our family!
Wonderful experience both working with adopting my dog and working with my business. They truly consider the whole family dynamic to ensure the pups and people are a perfect match.
We adopted Sirius from Twenty Paws and I was really impressed with how smooth the adoption process was, and I loved that they did a home visit and really checked to make sure he was going to a great home. Couldn't be happier with this rescue!
I've added two wonderful dogs to my family through Twenty Paws Rescue. I for one can say that Twenty Paws is an amazing rescue. They not only save many lives they make sure they will never need again......the dogs are priority.....as a rescue should be. They are awesome!
Twenty Paws Rescue is an amazing rescue! Linda and Rachel work tirelessly to rescue as many animals as they can and provide adopters with any help and advice that they can offer, all while holding down full time jobs. The volunteers and fosters are also fantastic individuals. We adopted our dog, Caramel (now Cassie) from them last November, and we couldn't be happier to have found our perfect dog! We had such a positive experience, not only with Rachel and Linda, but also with Linette, who did our home inspection, and Annie, our dog's foster mom. They were both so kind and caring and more than happy to take the time to answer all of my many, many questions about Cassie and what to expect. I also really appreciated how thorough Twenty Paws was with us, since it was clearly evident that they care deeply about the well-being of all of the animals in their care and are determined to find the perfect home for each one. I always recommend them to anyone interested in adopting. Thank you, Twenty Paws!
We adopted Wilma, Pebbles, and BamBam from Twenty Paws Rescue. TPR is a wonderful rescue organization. Rachel and Linda are very dedicated to their cause and do everything they can to make sure everyone finds the perfect home. I can't say enough about them and the work they do. They are angels to lost souls and saviors to so many!
I volunteer and I’ve adopted through twenty paws. The dedication of the people involved to help both people and animals is awe inspiring. I’m proud to be part of this amazing organization that does so much good.
I rescued my fur baby through Twenty Paws Rescue. When I first went to meet my pup it was only intended to be a meet and greet and so I wasn’t totally prepared to bring a dog home. When everyone realized that this girl was definitely my dog, I was taken right to the pet store with my pup to pick up all the essentials and then dropped at home. I can’t thank Twenty Paws enough for bringing me and my baby together!
Twenty Paws Rescue is made up of the most dedicated and caring people who share one single mission and that is to save lives. Our precious dog Kiwi is one of the lives that was changed forever due to their relentless and unwavering efforts. One day Twenty Paws Rescue received a request from a family who already adopted a dog from them. The request was to save the life of a dog who was mistreated and then thrown into a kill shelter because the owners had no more profitable use of her. Without hesitation, Twenty Paws Rescue rushed to Harlem, NYC to save Kiwi from being destroyed. Once saved, Kiwi was put into the most loving foster family where she gradually healed physically and emotionally. Several months later, our family was in search of a rescue dog who would be the ‘right’ fit. One of the founders of Twenty Paws Rescue heard about the type of dog we were looking for and matched us with Kiwi. They shared information and answered all of our questions about Kiwi in order for our family to make the decision that she was the right match. As we went through the adoption process, we got to know all of the amazing people behind Twenty Paws Rescue. We were so impressed with their ongoing support, level of commitment and passion for saving lives that when our very good friend wanted to adopt a rescue, we were more than comfortable pointing them to Twenty Paws Rescue. Now we are both extremely thrilled with our new addition to our family. Thank you Twenty Paws Rescue for making this world a better place one life at a time! Chad, Linette & Kiwi
Twenty Paws Rescue is a wonderful rescue organization! I say that as the adoptive human mama to a beautiful, energetic cockapoo with a one-of-a-kind personality who came to me through Twenty Paws. After a diligent screening process, I was approved to adopt my girl and they were there for me every step of the way. They truly care about each and every one of these dogs, and about the families that they become part of. Even after the adoption they have been there for me and I've become part of a wonderful community of Twenty Paws adopters. I believe in Twenty Paws, I volunteer for them, I adopted from them. They are very special people helping to save the lives of some very special dogs.
I adopted my dog Rosa from twenty paws. Linda and Rachel were so great to work with to find the perfect match. They are always checking in. Excellent rescue!
We fostered then adopted our two pups from Twenty Paws. The dogs are such an incredible addition to our family and bring us so much joy. Linda and Rachel work full time and manage to find time rescue dogs from many places, from shelters to the streets. They are committed to getting dogs in loving homes, where they belong! I never thought I would own Am Staffs, but here we are with two and could not love them more!
I am truly blessed to meet and and support the Twenty Paws Rescue ( Linda & Rachel) !!! I adopted my little girl Bella Mia and then ended up adopting my "Foster Fail" Foxy-Brown - aka Margarita. Words cannot express the big hearts and passion this rescue group have. They both walked me through the process and supported me and my girls along the way by being available to provide me helpful information.I am utterly grateful to be part of the Twenty Paws Family, and have seen with my own eyes the dedication and difference this organization makes. Passion + Love is what makes the organization
I had a client who was unable to keep her dog. I contacted Twenty Paws Rescue who immediately stepped in and committed to take the dog who was shelter bound. I know both cofounders of the Resuce and they do AMAZING AND I MEAN AMAZING work everyday.
This is Kenna a Twenty Paws Rescue. We had a great experience adopting Kenna. The price for Kenna was the average price, we have 3 other rescues. Linda and Rachel were awesome throughout the process. Kenna is our only female and we have had a dominance issue recently with her. Linda and Rachel have helped us get through this, they have spoken to me at length several times and checked in to see how things were going every step of the way! I am so thankful I had them at my side when I needed them and I'm so thankful we can keep our girl!!!!
I adopted my best friend, Vega, from Twenty Paws Rescue two years ago, just before Vega's first birthday. She was a timid little lady and it took lots of patience and training for her to become a comfy, happy dog. Twenty Paws has been there to answer all my (exhaustive) questions, provide support and check-in on how we're all doing. I absolutely love that Twenty Paws has an adopter Facebook group where all the adopter families can share their pics, questions, recommendations etc.
This rescue is near and dear to my heart. They introduced me to my best friend Cocoa! They are extremely supportive and always provide assistance. They go above and beyond to help all dogs/cats in need. Their adoption process is thorough and they ensure that every animal will end up in a home that is suited for their individual needs.
I love volunteering with twenty paws rescue! I have fostered about 15 dogs with twenty paws rescue- many of which were pulled a second from euthanasia. Rachel and Linda go above and beyond for their dogs, volunteers, and adopters. If there is an issue they are there to support you and guide you in a blink of an eye. I can't believe these girls work well over 40 hours a week at their full time careers and continue to run this rescue impeccably. All of my foster dogs have amazing homes due to their thorough process.
I adopted a dog over 2 years ago. They came did a home inspection. Gave me some tips about how to take care of a pit bull. They were very helpful. A year after I adopted my dog she got into a little trouble with another dog (all ended up fine). I was very upset and I sent Linda a message. She called me right back and helped me through this frightening time. I would highly recommend Twenty Paws Rescue.
Twenty Paws Rescue has been amazing to work with. When I first was preparing to adopt a dog, I went through some major life changes and had to put the adoption process on hold. Twenty Paws was very understanding and kind about it, so when I was ready to adopt, I sought them out again over other rescue groups. We ended up adopting our pup from them, and they've continued to be involved in her life and have kept up with her through Facebook and in-person visits/events. We feel lucky to be part of the Twenty Paws family!
I adopted a dog from this rescue a couple of years ago and have since volunteered and fostered for this rescue. They go above and beyond for each and every animal they care for. They never hesitate to provide vetting for my fosters. They are honest and truly work hard to find each animal the right home. Their process might not be the quickest, but it is definitely thorough and worth it.
Twenty paws rescue makes up stories about the dog's. History so u fall for it if u check the shelter they got the dog from their story u can see is well made up. Yes they do get some dogs adopted to people who fall for their stories about how the dogs.ended up there but just so you are aware when the dog.comes out of.the shelter they are already fixed and neutered and microchipped and up to date on their shots. Twenty paws does not and I say it again DOES NOT PAY for any of those services to he done. They pay an extremely small fee to.get.the dog out of the shelter way less than a regular civilian would. Then twenty paws makes up these sad stories about the dogs history and how they got there to.capture ur heart and not only that they lie and say they must charge these enormous adoption fees which all the money is NOT IN ANY WAY used for the dog. The only thing they use is a small amount of that money to buy cheap dog food no frills may I add. I know for a fact they don't report most of the money and they use it to live for themselves don't use this group. Go to another one who is honest. They also will take out the best looking dogs fr the shelters so u can't resist and.fall for their scam it is so sad that u would think all rescue groups r real and doing it to really help out the dogs unfortunately they r scammers and I know firsthand because I have done business with them in the past and this is how I found out
I WOULD PERSONALLY STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED NON PROFIT ANIMAL LOVERS. I WAS INTERESTED IN A DOG AND I FILLED OUT THEIR APPLICATION AND LINDA WHO IS THE FOUNDER OF THIS WAS THE ONE IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH ME. SHE SAID SHE WAS HAPPY TO TELL ME MY APPLICATION WAS APPROVED AND WE HAD COMMUNICATION FOR TWO WEEKS BACK AND FORTH. SHE LED ME TO BELIEVE I WAS GETTING THE DOG. I WAS NEVER SO EXCITED BECAUSE IT WAS REPLACING MY DOG WHO UNFORTUNATELY DIED AND I WAS LONELY AND HEARTBROKEN. ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NO WHERE SHE MAKES UP SOME UNBELIEVABLE STORY WHY SHE CAN'T ADOPT THE DOG WHICH I KNOW WAS A LIE. I AM SO UPSET AND LITERALLY CRYING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I THOUGHT AND WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT DOG WAS GOING TO BE MINE..
STAY AWAY FROM TWENTY PAWS RESCUE BECAUSE LINDA WILL GET UR HOPES UP LIKE SHE DID TO ME AND HURT UR FEELINGS IN THE END AND U WON'T GET THE Dog
