Amazing place to volunteer. They really care about the horses and go above and beyond to ensure their safety. They do not allow just anyone to adopt but rather ensure it is a fit for both plus do follow up with the adopter up to 6 months.

I went to a volunteer orientation session with my roommate, and she continued on to volunteer regularly. The reason I give this nonprofit five stars is because it's all about the horses: their wellbeing, their physical and emotional health, their quality of life.

Volunteers are important. And they feel important. Triple R appreciates, protects, and educates volunteers. First and foremost, though, are the horses. During our orientation, which was led by Curry, the president of the rescue, we learned about horse care and the why for every single step. If there was a supplement for a horse's food, Curry explained what the supplement was for and how it helped that particular horse. He explained why the food needed to be at a particular height. He explained that when a horse reacted a certain way, it was because of x, y, or z. As someone who knows little about horses, I knew that if I asked, Curry would educate — and he did.

The sad truth is that horse rescues need to exist, much like more popular rescues for dogs or cats. For Triple R, the rescue will continue with its mission to care for, rehabilitate, and hopefully rehome the horses that need help. When it floods near the rescue (or recently with the wildfires), the board tells volunteers to take care of themselves first, and Curry will personally take the horses to another, safer location. That's the point — no matter what, the horses are safe, respected, and loved, no matter how long they stay at Triple R.

So I give Triple R five stars because I trust them to do right by our four-legged friends. They have a mission, and they follow through wholeheartedly.

Triple R does a LOT with a little. A very committed volunteer Board of Directors focuses on the organization's mission, "to rescue-rehabilitate-rehome horses in need." Decisions about animal care, volunteer staffing and finances are made with consistency to ensure the best long term outcomes for the horses in Triple R's care. Tucked in the hills of a small desert town, rescued horses benefit from a beautiful, tranquil setting that allows them to relax and enjoy the food, attention, and loving vet care they deserve until they get adopted. Home visits and six months of follow up are required to ensure that the horses move on to the best life possible. Financial support from the community is incredibly important so that everything Triple R does for the horses can continue into the future.

I started volunteering at Triple R not too long ago, but am very proud to be a part of their team. Curee and his crew are very knowledgeable and helpful, and show great care for the animals on (and off) of their property. Curee goes out of his way to help others, and it definitely shows.

I started volunteering at Triple R last December. From the first day of orientation by the president, Curry, I have felt welcome and appreciated. He is great with communicating to the volunteers what we need to know when we need to know it and is always concerned for our safety and for the safety and health of the horses. I have enjoyed working with the various volunteers I have signed up with. It is a great organization.

I began volunteering with my daughter at Triple R and after she left for college, I have stayed volunteering with them because I have been impressed by their mission and handling of it. Great care and attention is given to the animals to make their lives as good as possible by everyone involved. Appreciation, transparency and attentiveness is shown to the humans involved whether volunteer, visitor, or adopter. It truly is a place that is run by people who care very much about the cause and the people involved.

RRR rescue of Arizona is a place where we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses. Our organization is 100% volunteer and we all work so hard to give these horses the love and attention they need. It is an amazing organization that helps both the volunteer and the horses.

We adopted a beautiful miniature donkey, Kizzie, from Triple R. The adoption process was so much fun. All the little girls tried very hard to get picked, but Kizzie was the sweetest. The staff goes to great lengths to assure the adoptees go to good homes. The staff's love for these animals is very evident and they are great people to work with.

Triple R Horse Rescue is primarily known for their tireless work in rescuing, rehabilitating and finding safe and loving homes for rescued horses; but it is also so much more. When you visit Triple R, you will see our dedicated volunteers, who gladly give their time and work hard for the benefit of these horses. The Rescue is also a place where human lives are enriched by bonding with the horses that they care for.

I am a volunteer, donor as well as a Board Member as their Volunteer/Community Outreach Coordinator. I became a volunteer because of the transparency in how our donations are used, how well the horses are treated and Triple R’s mission. This mission is one I can readily get behind. Triple R takes every measure to give each horse the love, comfort and attention they deserve before being adopted out. Triple R makes sure that while going through the rehabilitation process, it is done at the horses pace and comfort. This process helps make for a well-behaved and happy horse.

I serve among amazing, dedicated and big hearted people, all drawn together by the desire to help horses. These group of volunteers are beyond phenomenal which helps Triple R Horse Rescue run smoothly and grow.

I volunteered at Triple R Horse Rescue for over 3 years , when it was at LIL' BIT in Cave Creek, Arizona. AM and PM Shifts. Assisted in the move to a farther location with then owner Ken. I made shades screens there to keep the Hay cool and dry, during AZ Monsoons ( Rain during Summer) Three sides were exposed to the elements. Tripe R Horse Rescue respects and cares deeply for these RESCUED horses, Donkeys, Mini Horses and Mini Donkeys, as if their own personal animals. Though, the distance is now too far away, I still can help out in other ways. Just finished putting up new shade Screens for the new location shed inc losers for Feed and Hay. These sheds are enclosed on 3 sides, and open in the front. so put screens up on the fronts to allow the FEED and HAY IN THE shed to breath and again help keep the Rains out. Wet moldy Hay is one step towards a sick animal and costly Vet and Hay bills. This is MY labor of love for TRIPLE R HORSE RESCUE, CAVE CREEK AZ. this IS A GREAT NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. LOVE THE PEOPLE THAT VOLUNTEER AND CURRY THAT LOVES AND CARES SO SELFISHLY FOR THE ANIMALS HE RESCUES AND THEIR TRUE WELL BEING!! Like to do more in regards for shade for horses, but 'lease Doc.' will not allow anymore improvements. LOVE HORSES??...LOVE TRIPLE R RESCUE!!!!
Sincerely,
Alita Arnold

I cannot say enough great things about this organization! The care provided and concern for all equine is exceptional. They do a great job educating their volunteers and the community on the animals they serve. They make sure the animals they save go to not only a loving forever home but also the right home for both the animal and owner. This is a 100% volunteer ran organization. The board and volunteers are extremely dedicated and put their heart, soul, and time into all they do. I would highly recommend this rescue to those looking to adopt, needing help, wanting to assist or volunteer, learn more about equine, etc.

I've volunteered at Luv Shack for several years and have watched them grow, change the lives of both horses and people for the better, and make a positive impact on the community. They provide hope for those horses that have given up, healing for those with physical, mental, or emotional hurts, compassion for those ready to pass on, and a wonderful opportunity to start a new life renewed.

Not only have I scooped poop and other volunteer activities, I've also been on rescues, fostered and adopted. I've met great people and animals, and made friendships with both that will last a lifetime. Regardless of the hours volunteered, I honestly believe I've received far more than I'm able to give.

Luv Shack is an organization worthy of your volunteer time and donations.

As the founder of the LUV Shack Ranch Horse Rescue I have watched it grow and have an amazing impact on the community, children, adults and the horses. I have seen this organization go through its ups and downs and now significant growth. The mission is to Rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out horses, and this organization has rescued 392 horses to date. The amount of children that have been affected by the LUV Shack has been like the ripple affect.

I have been part of the Luv Shack for about 6 months now. I found the website on the interenet and Facebook and monitered what was going on for a few months before I was convinced i needed to go check it out.

The first day I arrived, i was greeted by Joey, and a group of lovely young ladies that Joey has mentored. We talked and were welcomed with open arms. Then we had to sign in as volunteers and were given a class by 2 young (13 - 14) ladies. They went the the rules and routines of the basic daily events that took place. They added motivation, dedication, stories, visuals, and laughter to there orientation. Joey was there and covered anything that was missed. But I can say that i don't remember anything being missed by these young ladies.

After that experience, we were all headed out to do daily events. Joey continously from day one has always provided knowledge to questions or concerns that anyone has. The herd is well taken care of, loved, trained, respected, and given the opportunity to live happily as they should.

After a few months, i went to volunteer one saturday and seen this amazing mustang with great attitude and potential. I talked with joey a bit about her history and what was going to be the outcome (Foster or Adoption). Joey told me she was up for adoption. I watched over a few weeks with strong persistance to adopt her. i had the chance to ride her prior as well.

Finally she was ready to come to my home to be happy with me forever. Joey made it clear from day one that all foster and adoptions must be approved by her either viewing your living facility or bringing the horse to the facility after adoption. Also we have fostered another as well.

I can tell you from experience that with all the horses, goats, donkeys, minis, chickens, sheep, and what ever else joey can assist with. She views each one with a pure open heart. She is not only this way with animals, but children as well get so much from the luv shack. She also has a Vet Tech College that comes out for OJT.

i will finish by saying, the LUV, lessons, experience, energy, heart, commitment, honesty, loyalty, respect, friendships, and knowledge that a human needs, "Can be found at the Luv Shack Ranch Horse Rescue!'

Come Join us and make everyday a better experiance!

I’ve volunteered at The Luv Shack Ranch for over three years helping with keeping the ranch clean to helping out at the different events that Luv Shack is involved in. I have also been on the Board of Directors for the last two years.

It is a wonderful organization. I’ve had the opportunity to witness many horses coming in malnourished, scared and hurt and later leaving after most of the healing, to go to their “forever” home to complete it. I’ve also had the misfortune to see some animals come in that were so far gone, nothing could be done for them. The compassion given to these horses in their last few hours was hard to watch but wonderful to see.

I’ve seen healing happening between horses and the children who have come into contact with them. It is something you don’t forget. The frowns from the kids that become smiles and laughter. The anger and distrust gone, if even for just a few hours.

I have been following the Luv Shack for several years. Followed their progress on the website and was very impressed with the level of the rescues and education of the childern with those very horses.

When it came time for me to add a member to our herd my friend and I paid a visit to the Luv Shack. I was very impressed with Joey Ogburn and her talent reading horses. The prior day she had rescued 3 very, very skinny arabains who looked like they were on the verge of death.

We pulled the 10 year old mare out and watched the magic of horses. She was having a fit being separated from her mother - running, crying and really just "freaked" out, when we watched from across the yard Joey's big palomino gelding Titus evaluate the situation. He walked slowly and the stood in the middle of the arab pacing - he had her calmed down with in minutes. I just sat there and said WOW just another day at the office for Joey!! I ended up fostering the Arabian we named "Grace" for 6 months. But more important I became convienced it was time to be a part of something greater.

More conversations with Joey led to an invitation to be on the board of directors to help with the business managment of the rescue. That was in October of 2010 and now almost a year later I am even more commited to the rescues and the childern we see come and visit and learn about the magic of horses.

I ended up fostering another arabian gelding "Aragon" who is now a full time member of our family. He is so special and I am convienced he knows he has won the lottery!!

If you are ever interested in being a part of a great horse organization consider the Luv Shack!

Luv Shack Ranch is an extremely impressive Animal Rescue! I have spent the majority of my adult life working in the horse industry as a trianer and know first hand what it takes to give horses first rate care and Luv Shack Ranch definitely provides that! Children and horses are brought together for some much needed love and attention from one another. I even brought my four year old nephew with me to the ranch to volunteer and he had a blast and I was impressed how careful all the animals were with him. Luv Shack Ranch is definitely an Animal Rescue with a lot of HEART!

The Luv Shack horse Rescue is a great organization that brings people and horses together to make both better. I have volunteered with them and have seen first hand how disadvantaged children can be helped to feel good about themselves while interacting with animals that they normally would not be exposed to in their neighborhoods. During the Fall Festival they bring mothers and children from a women's shelter to interact with the animals at the rescue, eat, play games and to have a fun afternoon. One of the most fun activities is when they meet the "Paint" horse and get to put their handprints on a horse in paint. The children get really excited and it gives them a non threatening chance to touch a large horse without any fear. The horse loves getting petted by all the children. It really is quite the event.
