Mission: To render behavioral health services to the residents of the kent county area of rhode island.
Programs: Through a wide range of specialized programs, the center provides a primary health home to persons with serious and persistent mental illness ensuring coordination between their behavioral and medical services and enabling individuals to maintain psychiatric stability, a good quality of life in the community, and to achieve their own personal recovery. Services include psychiatry, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and case management designed to meet the needs of each individual client, on-going assessment services, advocacy and skills development, crisis assessment and intervention services, group homes and supervised apartments, a psychiatric rehab program based on a clubhouse model certified by the international committee on clubhouse development (iccd) that provides vocational and social supports, and a court clinic where court-based clinicians evaluate the behavioral health status of individuals that present before the court, with a priority given to veterans, and recommended appropriate treatment rather than incarceration.
a full range of specialized services are provided under a "family centered" treatment approach to children and youth who face emotional or behavioral health challenges, or who have experienced trauma. This treatment philosophy views the entire family as the client and the treatment may be provided in the home or community, as well as in the traditional office setting. Services include individual, group and family counseling, case management, psychiatry, play therapy, add/adhd diagnosis and evaluation, and specialized treatment programs.
