Therapeutic riding has many benefits. It's very rewarding to participate in the accomplishments of the riders. Often times riders have physical and/or emotional challenges that might make it seem that riding would be impossible but the TROT team is very persitant and talented and they are almost always successful. You don't need horse experience to participate because the TROT team will provide any training a volunteer might need.

Trott has is a blessing to me from God. I enjoy watching riders, who have physical and emotion problems gain confedence, the big smiles when they they prepare, to mount, ride, and dismounting and grooming thier horse. My work thier needs no payment but, the love we all share.

I had the honor of working as the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator for TROT for a little over a year two years ago. I was amazed at the quality of the program and the impact on the participants - volunteers AND riders AND their families. It is awesome to see a person empowered by a relationship with a horse and a group of loving and supportive of volunteers

The Therapeutic Riding of Texas - also known as TROT has had a tremendous impact on so many lives. Understanding that each 'little' drop of help done by each volunteer produces a ripple effect in the body of water called life - just watch it multiply and impact the whole. As our late head instructor, Christine Radosta's favorite quote says, "When kids and horses get together miracles happen" - sharing in these miracles with the families is an honor and privilege. Volunteering with TROT is just a small way to 'give back' to your community and makes such a profound impact on humanity. If you're looking to get involved with something bigger than yourself TROT is a provides a marvelous way of accomplishing this. QUOTE:You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give. -- Winston Churchill
